Fowler is going to be a top pairing Dman for the next decade. He is a very mobile player with some nice offensive ability. I played against him my bantam major year when he played for Honeybaked AAA. I was on Team Illinois and their squad pumped us 6-0, 5-1, and 5-2 haha..funny thing is that he wasnt even the best player on the team at that time..he was more of a shut down type of dman that year...just shows how much the US National Development team can help a player grow... |

I've heard Bogosian and Boychuk may be available, or at the very least possible alternative options for their teams. |

I think a guy like Nick Grossmann or Braydon Coburn of the Flyers would be a good compliment with Fowler. Coburn is better all around but Grossmann is a solid shot blocking thumper that plays to his strengths well. - J35Bacher
Let's not even contemplate trading Coby right now. He's the best d-man we have besides Kimmo, and the back end will be nothing but shambles without him. |

Interesting options. I like Bogo, but $5.1M for six more seasons is hefty. Boychuck has a year left on his contact. Do you see him as a rental? |

Can't argue that. He gets lost in the shuffle with the Jets sometimes. A move to Anaheim might be what he needs to come into his own. His contract is daunting, just shy of $32M over the next six seasons. |

Just to be clear, they are just rumors I heard on the internet as far as actual availability. Boychuk would likely be a rentral/resign. I can't see the Ducks making a move for him and not resigning a guy that is essentially a younger Beauchemin without the injury problems and a natural Right shot. Bogo at 5.1 for 6 years will be a steal in 2 considering where contract values are heading. |

Paul Martin? - penguins-4-life
Might as well get Orpik while we're at it and sign both until they're 50. Pass. |

Bogosian is a 6'3" 215 lb RS D who plays top pairing in Winnipeg. He was drafted 3rd overall after Doughty. Tough guy with a hard shot. Had a bit of a down year with only 11 points in 55 games. But is capable of putting up 30+ IMO. May be expendable with Trouba emerging and Byfuglien there as well on the right side. Solid character from what I have heard too. |

How bout Paul Martin? With all the pens d prospects potentially graduating from the ahl and with the signing of ehrhoff, it makes sense for the pens to perhaps ship out Martin for a top 6 forward such as sifverberg or pelly-smith... Martin had a solid year last year... Thoughts? |

Doubt it, they lost 2 vets in Orpik and Niskanen, and with question marks around Letang I really doubt he gets moved. |

I like the Ducks, Kes was a good pickup. Edler would make Anaheim scary in a good way. |

Whats the deal with souray. Is the guy ever gonna recover? - Shenanigans20
At open house Bob Murray said that Souray was done. An arthritic condition in his wrist will prevent him from returning. He'll likely spend the season on LTIR and then retire, which leaves the Ducks with 8 D, not 9. Murray said they would not go to camp with 8, so someone will be moved, either for picks or as part of a larger deal.
Murray also said that the team believes Lindholm is a potential future #1D. And he said that the only young players that are untouchable are Lindholm, Fowler and Gibson. There are a lot of guys he would prefer not to move, but anyone not named Lindholm, Fowler or Gibson (or Getzlaff or Perry) could be had in the right deal. Although he did laugh when asked about Vatanen being available. |

And yet Souray keeps tweeting to other teammates that he'll see them at camp and he's looking forward to getting back out there with them. I was at the STHers open house and everything you posted is accurate. Maybe it's just a ruse so the Ducks can get the LTIR exemption. Kinda like Pronger not talking about retiring even though everybody knows he's not going to play again. |

I don't want to be a Richard but you are getting a little to excited don't you think? The guy hasn't won a cup himself and he is going to end the drought in t.o? Nonis has shown to not be that great at cap management and Tampa already has a brighter future then Toronto and is a nicer place with nicer women and why would someone not want to play under Steve y ? There is more to like about what he has going for him now then if he where to go to Toronto for half the team and a poop ton of money I dnt see it working out like that fairy tale everyone else hopes for - blizzzard
I am with you. I cringe every time I see Stamkos to Toronto posts. Would I like it? Yep. Do I think it will happen? HAIL no. I get that he may want to head home to Toronto and play with THE THRILL, but I put the chances below 1%. Some guys are like that, but none have been lately when it comes to Toronto, and there are a LOT of guys from Toronto.
I disagree about the women though. Have you spent any significant time in Tampa? Just because they're wearing less doesn't make them more attractive |

Do you think it's worth considering if Philly are out of the hunt at the deadline? (I'm not saying Philly will be, just curious what you think if they are at that point) |

How you can do that entire article and not include Lovejoy in your comments is mindboggling. Lovejoy was a very good compliment to Fowler last season and give all the alternatives, still remains the best partner for Cam. The Ducks aren't going to trade for another defensemen, they will go with the group they have which includes Lovejoy. Ed ... get it right ... if you're going to right about the Ducks you need to improve. |

I like to think that Cody Franson would be a good defenseman to play alongside Cam Fowler. Even if he has his mind on offense, he has the body and size to play the physical game when needed.
We have a good relationship with the Leafs as well, trade wise.
EDIT: Also, he's right handed. |
