Agreed. I think Sven is going to surprise a lot of people this year. Remember Jordan Leopold dominated as a College player (and had a lot of the same hype that JG had). He ended up being a very capable NHL dman but not the All Star that everyone thought.

Bouma will play. Byron will be on the bench as a extra player in case of a short term injury (1-2 games) or benching someone. And Jones has made the team. If Hayes signs I will be pumped but will not make the team. But talk about forward prospect depth:

It's not too bad of a contract. They are gonna unload him though. I don't see a long term solution ever coming to fruition for ROR & the Av's. Buy's them some time though.

I'd take him for sure, it's only 2 years. All depending on what the cost is of course...

I don't know. JG is a momma's boy. He had to make a deal with his mom to allow him to play in the NHL.

Aginstino said he wanted to finish his Yale degree. It was in political science but still a degree from Yale. Apparently Yale does not give exception to athletes for admission (like most schools) so he is actually a smart dude.

Ya, communications seems like a bit of a joke. He should have taken one Econ class and learned about marginal benefit ...Let's see, do I benefit more from going into debt getting a degree that might only net me a 45,000 K a year job? OR Do I sign a 3 yr contract for just under a million dollars, collect my paycheck and do whatever the (frank) I want if my hockey career doesn't pan out?


Then mom comes in: "You can sign a 2yr contract, if you finish your degree by sacrificing training time!! That way if your hockey career doesn't work out, you have more debt, and less money!"

Love my mom, but no damn way she would've won that (frank)in argument!

Yea I agree Bouma has the spot locked down....BYron may come into play in that spot if Bouma or another 3rd or 4th liner is injured.
I;m still also not ready to just slot JG in as if he's for sure going to be a full timer at the NHL level.....don't want to get disappointed lol
