its prob better that way but for the sake of keeping isles talk going ill enlighten you.

urnotme, said that boulton was a barrel scraping signing and had garth not signed the 2 russian sensations, the barrel scraping would have continued. he is essentially predicting the future for an even that will never happen.

Once again its not about Boulton, geez stop thinking I'm suggesting that the isles should have targeted someone else.

I'm in total agreement and glad isles signed Kumi & Grabo, I endorsed it bc it helps the team, matter of fact, I've gone as far as defending the signing when others fel that the isles overpaid, which was needed to land NHL quality players to sign here.

- Ur Not Me

i understand what youre saying, you would have preferred they signed boulton/fill in the blank when he had a better idea of what the roster looks like. but whats the difference if the need is filled today or the day after the season?

I'm just shocked at how folks can be so negative about what's happened this offseason. We're one dman from being a VERY good hockey team IMO. ONE DMAN! Hell, we've got Reinhart and a couple of other highly valued prospects who are challenging for the open roles and may be capable of surprising their way into that role all the while having an overstock of forwards available for a trade. We've got the best offensive depth this team has seen in nearly 25 years!!!

Whelp...that's about enough for me...back into the shadows:

I always find it rather amusing when we tag the "worthless" on one of our players. I think most of our players are worth more than most on here would believe. In the past that has certainly been the case when we DO actually trade one of "those" players... last year PMB and Regin for a 4th. Campoli and Comrie garnered a first round pick. A-mac was worth a 3rd and a second.. sutton a second.. Marc-Andre Bergeron a 3rd, ..etc. I guess my point is if you don't think that Carkner and Bailey are worth anything you would be mistaken. Carkner could add toughness to the backline for a team that desperately needs it and has depth on D so he isn't playing top 4 mins.... Bailey's stats at his age makes him very desirable.. etc.

i say boulton; not because i dont like him but more bc i dont think hes needed.

- LetsGoIsles

Are you playing a game trying to figure out who I was referring too? I clearly state who in the first sentence of the post.

Agreed. Getting him away from Capuano was one of the best moves Snow has made in a while. Im sorry was this too negative?

I agree. How anyone can have a problem with an enforcer who does his job well can actually skate a little who comes cheap and has no problem playing in 15-20 games a year? He is the definition of a 13th/14th forward.
- Vukota

Just like most have said I can care less about him being resigned bit he wasnt much of an "enforcer" or played that role to me. He played pretty decent and is a much better skater than I ever realized but he disnt seem to be much of an enforcer.

yet flyers fans still make an occasional appearance here to tell us that they love him and that it was a good signing.

not all flyers fans are this silly, but there's a number of them out there.

Theres quite a few on here that sing his praises. Amac looks just as bad with them as he di with us at least in the games that i watched him play for them.

He inst a bad player... hes not a 1-2, but he can be a solid 3-4 with a good partner.

He sucked here as the 1-2 guy, in this "system". He's never going to be THE guy on anyone's backend, he will never be the guy you build a d around.. but if you have that guy already in place... Amac can be a fine player.

What's your definition of enforcer? Mine is the heavyweight of the team who mostly fights the other teams heavyweights. If you're talking about protecting star players like Gillies, O'Reilly, Schultz, Semenko etc etc did back in the day then that's a different debate because since they added the instigator rules years ago those days are over. Today's stars pretty much get mugged on a nightly basis because of the instigator rule.

he made every partner he had worse. Everyone. Not just due to minutes, not just due to pp. He's a bottom pairing guy at best and regardless of how capuano used him he is not a top 4 guy.
