Yeah,...he really got buried early with bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana being in their prime. He got tons of critical acclaim and was just gaining momentum when he died.
I can't suggest him enough to folks who aren't familiar with him. Especially his live recordings which can be found all over youtube. The kid was a total natural.

Yikes...I see ZERO similarities between Stapp and Jim Morrison

I definitely think his intention was to capture Vedder's vocal stylings. A lot of these guys start off sounding like one or the other but mature into their own presence.
