I think someone once gave him the advice, on covering hockey, of "just declare many things and then stand behind them unwavering no matter what"

He just routinely says things about guys in the league that are sometimes asinine and then defends them to the death like his statements are his family.

The best was when he was arguing with the LHH guys saying he's "studied the game intently for years" and how he was basically like a scout because he's devoted his life to studying the game of hockey.

I think everyone concedes that there's a chance that these guys can surprise us and play above where we all thought they would. But if's and but's don't really mean anything so I think you'd have to go into the season assuming things like Reinhart only being a 3rd pairing defenseman. We all hope he's Shea Weber, but for now I don't think it's all that fair to even mention it until he gives us a reason to.

Both you and JimmyP are right. I just don't want to see Snow throw a Lee, Strome or Nelson into a deal because he thinks he's pressed for a top D man. I think deals will come. Many teams NEED a D man, but no one is currently moving any. I have a feeling it won't be till camps open up.
I actually want to see these guys go to camp with a chip on their shoulder and have the need to beat out the guy in the locker next to theirs. I think the Isles have that with the depth they have now created.

Anyone else that bought tickets to the Blue/White Scrimmage get a call from an Isles ticket sales rep? I hung up on him twice, gave him the (frank) you button once and he still left a voicemail

My buddy has had season tickets for over 20 years. Brooklyn called him up the other day and told him his seat in the new place will be 3x the price

I have a feeling those prices will come down. Plus I heard they haven't opened the upper bowl yet they want to get the lower one filled first

Exactly. As isles fans and players like tavares "ifs" and "maybe" shouldnt be acceptable at this point. Weve been there done that. It rarely works out. We have a need that was more glaring then the holes filled by grabovski and Kulemin. Yeah one of these kids can surprise. Dehaan may not have a sophomore slump and all the planets might align too but that's not the way things should be done imo. Its a weighed risk and the odds arent in our favor.

Staple soft-tosses questions to Garth. Never has a critique of anything about the team & their decisions. To me he jus seems like another puppet. He should go work for Wang.

- eichiefs9

Is he going to call Friedman's parent's house?
