Kane is 22 and under contract..if bailey MDC and a moderate third piece gets it done you jump on it...you can still use other assets such as grabner etc to get a dman - Dan Petriw
I couldn't disagree more. When you're having engine issues on a car you don't re paint it.
Brock Nelson will score 20-25 on that line and adding grabovski and kumelin should be 45-50 more goals. The scoring is not the biggest need.
This islander team hasn't had 4 legit dmen since Aucoin, Johnsson, Hamrlik and Niniima. Successful teams have legit threats from the point on the PP. The isles are seriously lacking that. If the isles want to be a serious team they need to start adding some scoring from the point. |

I was just stating what Ek what saying on the home page. I'm not sure who I would want to be honest. - Vukota
Names aside, I think we can agree that the isles need a PP dman over a power forward. |

key word "probably" kane at worst is 30 goals 60 points and a whole lot of sandpaper - Dan Petriw
Kane is talented, but he's basically Okposo on the left side. Brock Nelson will be just fine on that left side. How much more top heavy do you want this team to be?
As I said......between Nelson, Grabovski and Kumelin, you're gonna now have the first line scoring and that secondary scoring. That is not the glaring need. If you're gonna give up prime time assets it better be for the weakness. |

I approve of this message... You cant trade a strength to make it stronger.. you have to trade from strength to make the weaker component better.

the isles have enough assets to make more than one deal.. if you can improve your team you do it. kane gives you one of the best lines in hockey and makes lines 2-4 that much deeper. i'm not trading the farm for him, but if the price is reasonable, i'm doing it. we all know they need a top 4 dman but they won't be contenders until they devlop their own defenseman |

You think that kid would have the stones to ask Clark Gillies if he could wear the retired #9 on the Island the same way he asked Bobby Hull if he could wear the retired #9 for the Jets?
Who does this A-hole think he is Joshua Ho-Sang??

There is no way Garth trades multiple assets. That being the case, if you're going to trade an asset it should address the biggest need. The isles even with a top 4 dman aren't winning the cup, but the goal for this team right now this next season is making the playoffs. Trading for Evander Kane doesn't put them in the playoffs. Adding a dman who can add scoring from the point on the PP, and log 20 plus a night does.
Evander Kane and Brock Nelson are very similar players, and I personally think Nelson will put up better numbers. I just don't see the need to trade for someone you basically have. |

It's not going to be reasonable. I don't see Snowjob trading Del Colle and a roster player for Kane.
I'd do it for bogosian though.. |

Youre not wrong but if you have an opportunity to add a player like kane you do it especially if you think you can add a top four with what you have left to trade. If some team is cap strapped and would take some prospects you do it for a top four. Not saying any of this will happen but you never know.we have some decent prospects and if we can do something with out selling the farm I have no problem with it. |

There is no way Garth Snow trades multiple assets. So, my point is, if he's gonna part with one (Reinhardt, del Colle, strome etc) you do it for the PP dman this team so desperately needs. I like Evander Kane, I think he's a great all around hockey player. But I don't think you trade blue chip prospects for a guy who's scored 30 once in his career thus far. Granted he's not played with elite talent but I believe Brock Nelson is a similar type of player.
The isles have sooooo many forwards, how is this even a discussion? I don't think Kane is worth what the jets would be asking......he's good but he's not Iginla in his prime. |

That succinctly??? Picking up a power forward does not address the biggest need which is defense. The del Colle kid is prob gonna end up being Tavares winger... - kindlyrick
I think josh Ho sang going to be better than him like Nelson better than nino |

I started playing fantasy football about 15 years ago. No real internet. The stats were taken out of the newspaper and the scoring was done by hand. |

Fair enough, but it's really tough to tell with "kids". I thought NiƱo was gonna be a bust, but the more he gets older and stronger its becoming pretty clear that Minnesota stole that trade.
Ho sang.....tons of talent, hopefully he matures and puts it all together. |
