Interesting that Buffalo is on 14 times...I guess NBC doesn't look at the standings... - kear20
it's called "guaranteed win for the other team" night...I guess. There's going to be plenty of nights they'll be able to talk about mcdavid during those broadcasts.

He inst a bad player... hes not a 1-2, but he can be a solid 3-4 with a good partner.
He sucked here as the 1-2 guy, in this "system". He's never going to be THE guy on anyone's backend, he will never be the guy you build a d around.. but if you have that guy already in place... Amac can be a fine player.

problem is he is being paid like a top pairing guy and he is a 4 |

To be clear Pete, my issue was that I think it's a loser move to take a hockey conversation which is obviously all opinion and make it into something that its not. Some people who shall remain nameless act like Garth's reading these posts and they might be considered for an assistant to the assistant position. The purpose of this is to pass time and discuss the team we all follow. I don't profess to know the contract status of a player from years ago and their stats from said year. Making an incorrect statement about someone's contract status 5 years ago should not take over the conversation about that said player sucking. I also think its a loser move to say "we" and "us" when referring to a team that you're not on (not referring to you). To me, I pass the time and try to talk hockey......but I find a lot of the time the discussions get lost and twisted into something completely different, and unfortunately it becomes a google fest. That's not what this is for. Noones getting paid to be here. - kindlyrick
Oh, well since nobodies getting paid to be here I guess things like facts and the truth don't matter.

That's absolutely not what I'm saying. When talking about a specific player and why they suck etc, it becomes a convo about "well you said he's got 1 year remaining on his contract and really he has 2". Now it becomes a ridiculous conversation about contract status.....when the point was about the player sucking.
Sorry if I ruined your GM fantasy. |

Bring your résumé to the next draft party. I'm sure they can use a guy to count how many times hickey coughs up the puck in his own end. |

Just come out and say it already. Just say that you want to be able to whine and complain about players ,Owners & Coaches without having to actually know what you're talking about. Just say that you want to post incorrect info post after post and don't want anybody else to point out that you have no idea what you're talking about. This way we all know where you stand and nobody will actually think you're serious and therefore probably won't respond thus avoiding a debate. Sound good |

I have never once ever seen somebody refer to a player's skill level and have that responded to by pointing out their contract status that apparently the first person was incorrect about. That doesn't even make sense. I think you're just completely fabricating that scenario.
Sorry that my references to big, scary things like measurable metrics and logic as a useful tool confuse you and therefore you discount these things as worthless, but it doesn't make you right. Ever. |

I agree to a point but it still takes two people to make a ridiculous conversation. Some people take being corrected on some statement about a players contract status for example like its a personal attack. Accept the correction and move on. End of ridiculous conversation. |

Did I strike a nerve or something? I know more than enough about hockey to be able to have a hockey discussion. When it becomes a game of "how many windows can I have open to prove him wrong" it's phucking pathetic. This is supposed to be about islander fans discussing the islanders. I'm sorry if I'm not happy with what I've seen after 20 plus years of season tickets. Certainly seems like the right place to vent. |

amac is so bad it hurts...i truly believe the defense is better today even without any moves simply bc he isnt on the team. i am so much more confident knowing he cant turn the puck over. - LetsGoIsles
Yep. I'd cringe every time he came out on a shift. The defense was more organized and seem to have more of a plan rather than a free for all. I still to this day have no idea how Capuano could not see this? |

Hey man I certainly have my share of being wrong with anything in life....but this becomes contentious when there's no need. It's like the certain groups of people who post all day everyday act like this is their blog and we should bow down.
I've seen other fans come on here and try to talk hockey only to be ridiculed and called a troll (which might I add I still don't understand the term..).
I think people need to get a grip and realize what this is. You wanna talk about fantasy land......well this is it.
I'd be curious to know how many people actually played this sport, work in it, or actually have any connection to it other than blogging on hockeybuzz? |

Strike a nerve on a hockey message board? Notice the trend here? When you show up its turns into this mess. All day we chat and debate no problems, you show up and where back to this point again. Not to burst your bubble but I don't need 4 windows opened to prove you wrong over and over. With that said vent away buddy |

I seriously hope they change the lottery system like they're discussing so the odds aren't so weighted for the worst team. Only because Sabres fans have been such utter douche bags on our thread for far too long now |

Amac isn't even a top 4. He keeps getting icetime like he is, but watching him it's easy to see he's nowhere near a top 4 NHL defenseman. That contract philly gave him is a joke.

LOL I was thinking the same thing - please let us finish in the playoffs and have some other team win the lottery instead of Buffalo, only to stick it to the douchebags who have been visiting this thread since the Vanek deal.
Not all the sabres fans - just the ones who've been trolling here for months.
