The guy cheers for a team that had two forwards with more then 40 points - ClarksonDavid
TSN shows the points for 13/14 from the Flames D at 164 and the Leafs at 159 on the season. Maybe it's just me, but 5 points doesn't seem like much to laugh about.

I find it funny people want to pair him with Polak, two right hand shots that play the right side exclusively. Then you have those that want him paired with Gardiner, it didn't work with those two before, it was a disaster, hey let's try it again, so that brings him up to the top pair, yet again, not a fit, he just does not fit anywhere in this current lineup. - LeafMan
this is it exactly
the issue with the leafs is needing better D, there is still a on ton of offense from the back end without franson |
|
|
|
Franson is still young he can turn it around ,maybe it might have to be with a different team .But he has shown some promise, and in a defense starved league he has value - top shelf 15
The whole leaf defense sucked last year not just Franson, he had a good season in 13, maybe it was the shortened season, who knows but I believe the leafs collapse last year was because of Carlyle, he totally lost the team, how he handled the goaltending, calling guys out, most of the time the wrong ones, he totally lost the respect of the team and some guys mentally bailed. |

Look at Chara, Kieth, Karalsonn, Subbans give aways. Two things they all have in common. They have all won a Norris in the past 5 years. 2 they were all up there in the giveaway stats. - JVR_42_PK81
playing top pairing minutes against opposition top lines
not the 3rd and 4th grinder lines like franson |

franson can never get any respect
hes not terrible, hes not amazing, hes not over paid but always gets the short end of the deal in contracts, media , fans
he may break down and cry if he ever gets a 2 year deal |
|
|
|
Convert him to forward since he likes offense so much and can't play defense |

If the assistant coaches are in charge of the systems, what the hell are they paying RC for? All he does is bark about compete level, and rag on Kadri every other shift.

He's a bottom pairing guy on 80% of teams in the league who doesn't fit here and has a poopty attitude. Don't give him away but he's gotta go. |

Remember when Franson threatened to stay in Brynäs even after the lockout ended?

Ron Wilson did stick the dude with the press alot - while Komisarek and Jay friggin Rosehill played - and just like any player, wants playing time. |

hits are a terrible stat
1: they are counted and tabulated differently in each arena (the leafs are always near the top)
2: franson gives the puck away, gets a glancing hit in, and pads that stat
look at franson's giveaways.. he's brutal - Dozzer
Did you look at his point totals though? Giveaways, possession, defensive zone coverage and corsi against, isnt everything, dozzer |

As much as we rip RC look what he's had to work with on the back end. |

most of those stats are just as subjective as the hit stats... |

lets see how the Asst coaches/new system plays out - PinkSock
1. No backing in on rushes, allowing the opposition to walk right in, close the gap
2. Better point coverage, again close the gap so when the puck comes around the boards, the forwards are there to receive the pass or battle for the puck, gap control.
3. Better positioning by the D, when one is the corner the other is out front, the centre backs up the D on any open player down low.
4. Forwards need to allow the D men with an outlet pass instead of clearing the zone.
5. D men need to look behind them when the puck is up the ice, head on a swivel, too many times a player sneaks in behind them. Awareness.
6. Defense pinches need to be backed up by the strong side forward to eliminate all the 2 on 1's |
