This reminds me of the Habs when Bergevin was hired. He brought in a poop load of guys to work with him and the "culture change" some like to made fun of really needs to start from the top.

I expect Shannahan to do the same with the Leafs. He'll give Nonis and Carlyle just enough rope to hang themselves with and then he'll rebuild from the top.

i never was a 100% adv stats guy, but i recognize they have a place and the guys who ignore them are generally at the bottom of the standings.

this is a massive culture shift if this points to the direction shanny intends to go.

Johnson was picked and ranked really low because it seemed like he was unable to play and that his conditioning was really poor.

After being picked by the Leafs, it was recognized that he has Asthma and was never diagnosed. This year, he was given medication and has an inhaler on the bench. Because of this, he's been able to play the tougher minutes and fully compete, while keeping his asthma in check.

Didn't know that... but how the hell does an athlete get to that age and that level without ever realizing he's got asthma?

I figured out I had it pretty quickly when I was playing football.
