Juco. Junior college version of the NCAA. Typically a place where guys go for a year or two to improve so they can get onto major NCAA programs. But that is mostly for baseball and football, I haven't heard much about it for hockey.

i thought it was more about $$ for non-athletes.
i know that for football guys they go to Juco after getting passed over for scholarships and they try to earn them there. Aaron Rodgers believe it or not had to go to Juco just to get a scholarship to play at Cal.

It's about the grades too. If you are flunking out in a regular college you can go to junior college for a year or 2 to get reinstated at a regular college.

Same story here- if you're struggling in university, you go to college for a year.

Becuase they typically go to ushl. Guys that aren't ready for college yet usually spend a year or 2 there first.

Johnson was picked and ranked really low because it seemed like he was unable to play and that his conditioning was really poor.

After being picked by the Leafs, it was recognized that he has Asthma and was never diagnosed. This year, he was given medication and has an inhaler on the bench. Because of this, he's been able to play the tougher minutes and fully compete, while keeping his asthma in check.
