What is wrong with Bailey? Every Isles fan wants to get rid of him. - JVR_42_PK81
The honest answer is he just hasn't worked out particularly great here. There is untapped potential there that could end up seeing him be a steal for the team that get's him, depending on the trade.
His advanced numbers are good and he can fill a 3rd line role really well, with the ability to fill in on the second line as needed. If Carlyle can find a way to keep him consistent, he's quite easily a good second line player. Sometimes he just looks disinterested.
Oh and he frequently passes up perfect opportunities to shoot by making one more pass that generally results in nothing. |

I seem to remember him being top in the league in hits 2 seasons ago also. - jerseyleaf
hits are a terrible stat
1: they are counted and tabulated differently in each arena (the leafs are always near the top)
2: franson gives the puck away, gets a glancing hit in, and pads that stat
look at franson's giveaways.. he's brutal |

So where are we trading Franson? - CanadianBodmon
I believe franson is going is going to stick this year
Phaneuf Morgan jake robidas polak
Take franson out of the equation and you need 2 dmen to round out the d corps

That's what's left

The problem is if he has a decent season and the Leafs are poised to make the playoffs then trading him is going to be a tough sell. - golfingsince
I don't think you have to worrt about that |

I find it funny people want to pair him with Polak, two right hand shots that play the right side exclusively. Then you have those that want him paired with Gardiner, it didn't work with those two before, it was a disaster, hey let's try it again, so that brings him up to the top pair, yet again, not a fit, he just does not fit anywhere in this current lineup. |

He'll play unless they can find the right trade. I think they'd like to move him for a LH d'man so Phaneuf can stay on his preferred RH side. |

move him right before the season starts to a team who feels they still need to shore up D - Dozzer
not many teams are willing or are in position to take on $3.5 million at that point though. i'd say it's far more likely in-season. |

Look at Chara, Kieth, Karalsonn, Subbans give aways. Two things they all have in common. They have all won a Norris in the past 5 years. 2 they were all up there in the giveaway stats. |

You didn't take into account that Gardiner will be an All-Star next season and the triforce will finally align sending the cosmic sexual energies through him creating GardinOrr. |

ok but those are defencemen who, for every giveaway, make 6 or 7 positive offensive plays. |

I also remember you throwing around the "what if they walk away and lose him for nothing" bit, even going as far as to argue Montreal would have just let Franson walk if they acquired him for Gorges |

yes, 1 season out of his career...the rest...they weren't that bad.

Erik Karlsson...led the league...but Ottawa should trade him, right? Subban ahead of Franson on that too! And Reilly. |

They'll be pretty good in a couple of years. Him and his Dad apparantly love the city as well. Can't imagine his slightly boring and serious personna would want to come to Toronto. |
