Yeah but in Franson they get a guy who CAN skate when healthy (he was dealing with hip injury literally ALL season and didn't miss games, whats up warrior!) , he is one of the only leafs defencemen who seems to have a knack for getting pucks through traffic to the net, he has a bomb of a shot, and was 2nd in the entire NHL for hits. Del zotto is speedy and good at puck movement but other than that not much special which is why he is a UFA right now...not saying Franson is leaps and bounds better but he is worth more because he can do more.

I live in Toronto, and growing up, went to the Hockey Hall of Fame at least twice a year. At the time, it was housed in a horrible little building on the Canadian National Exhibition grounds. One side was the HHOF, and the other side was the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame.

Anyhoo, the two best exhibits were the evolution of the goalie mask and the actual trophies - the Conn Smythe Trophy being the coolest to look at.

Yup, if he gets to where he was two years ago particularly down the stretch and in the playoffs 3.3 is just fine... Last year RC had him playing a lot with Gardner and
Reilly which is fine but with them still learning and he isn't exactly great defensively inflated his poor defensive showing... Put him with the right guy and he will be good...

The way the trophies are in thàt big beautiful old room at the HHOF is pretty funny, it really is like a shrine. The Cup is pretty intense. I touched it but only on the Leaf engraving part.

You are wrong. It had little to do with any specific deals. It had to do with the disparity in revenue sharing. That's been corrected. And even though we as fans whine about every deal with an AAV over $2 million, doesn't change the fact that a smaller portion of revenue is going to the players.

Yes but the discrepancy in revenue sharing was also due to those long term contracts so I would imagine that factored in.

Cody Franson gets a $3.3m one year deal? I thought the NHL locked out its players because of deals like this.

Both are useless on defense and only ok offensively. At least Franson is a bit physical.

Del Zotto is younger, cheaper and better on offense. Skates a lot better too which helps in getting better at playing defense.

Two years ago he had 10 goals and 41 points though and had a pretty good pace in the lockout shortened season. Franson's never scored 40 points and he's older too.

And that's just stats too. In terms of offensive tools, Del Zotto has more offensive ability given how he skates and passes.
