Is that with or without the chains ....
- bixll

Wang will bill you extra for the chains, he needs the money to invest in oil futures so he can pay Tavares big $ in a few years.

yep. not necessarily at this point of the offseason but once you get into the season and injuries hit and cap space grows, for sure.

Yeah not bad at all, traceable if they want to go that route but also doesn't really hurt the Leafs cap very much for one year. I don't mind it
- ClarksonDavid

Is he UFA at the end of the season, or 1 more year RFA ?

the issue is his defensive liabilities outweigh his offensive upside.

yet he wants to be paid like a top 4 guy, but he simply isnt good enough.

he also has held out twice, is constantly in contract disputes with the leafs, has whined about ice time and generally been a bigger pain in the ass ofr leaf management then what he's worth.

trade him now while he has value instead of letting him walk for nothing next summer.. he knows the leafs have tried to trade him on top of all the contract nonsense.. there is no way in hell he wants to stay in TO.

- Dozzer

The problem is if he has a decent season and the Leafs are poised to make the playoffs then trading him is going to be a tough sell.

I seem to remember him being top in the league in hits 2 seasons ago also.

D men take longer to develop than most. Why everyone wants to get rid out a defenceman a season removed from quality is beyond me. One bad season doesn't define a player.

Edit: I'm also aware we have 4 right handed shots.

- jerseyleaf

Also 1 good season also dosent define a player.
The problem is he can't skate for sh!t.

He's actually a decent player. Severely underrated by leaf fans.

He stepped on my foot at the movie theater, but I let it slide. Why spend the next twenty years in jail because he smudged my Pumas?

Then we don't trade him. We keep him for a playoff run and be happy we didn't trade him.

All that matters is that is a trade-able contract, either now or at the deadline. I hope he's gone sooner rather than later so that Gards/Rielly get PP time and Dion gets moved over to the right side for his shot though.

Dion is practically useless on the left side. He's a shade of what he can bring from the right.

Remember when Franson threatened to stay in Brynäs even after the lockout ended?
