Not really. A trade does not mean much, because another team wants you and is ready to take you with your cap hit. If the team has to buy you out, it's another thing.

Anyway, I don't care all that much about Gorges but you won't get a top 4 defenseman for much less than that these days.

I agree, but Georges was being paid as a top four defenceman and simply wasn't. A good number 4-5, that's it.
