I read a blog on here where all the advanced stat percentages were higher for the new guys coming in over the ones leaving - but when you add up the goals - the goals going out were greater than the goals coming in |

i think they have great relevance in terms of team performance. but individual player performance? i'm not sure i see the value the same way they have value in baseball. i hear guys like Yost say "Patrice Bergeron is a possession monster!!" it's like ya ok, we all knew Bergeron was great all along. this is not relevatory. |

Hockey ain't chess.
At the end of the day, you need to play the game and we all know anything can happen in hockey

yes but without seeing his Corsi and Fenwick, i cannot decide whether PK Subban is a good hockey player. i just cannot. |

Yeah, that's how I see it as well. I find them more useful to see how a team performs overall. |

It makes me realize how much Joel Bouchard would make a great assistant coach to replace Gallant... |

i think they're right more often than wrong in terms of their predictive nature.
but i also think that they can highlight your strengths and weaknesses if not your overall record. i don't believe that MB looks at the possession numbers and says "meh it's fine..." i think he knows it an area where the team needs to improve. i think it's why he brought in Tom Gilbert and shipped out Josh Gorges. it's why he brought in a faceoff ace. and it's why he's made the team a bit bigger. |

Never thought of it.
Damn, now I want it to happen.
Now that Jean-François Houle is gone to the ECHL. |

No I don't.
Might be a great coach.
Just don't see him with MT behind the bench. |

He just lost his head coach.
Doubt he'd be able to replace both himself and Houle with the Armada. |
