The guy can hit, but otherwise, his play is... pretty average.

Are you suggesting he be moved

agree that he has to earn it in preseason but my bigger concern is, when he makes the inevitable mistakes that lead to goals and maybe even cause a loss, does that put him back at square one with MT? i hope they don't get into a situation where we see Mike Weaver playing 22 minutes per night.
- DoubleDown

I think they will be patient with Beaulieu, if his work ethic is there he shouldn't be overly worried at making mistakes. As for Weaver, he will get a lot of ice time on the PK and Markov much less. That's why i would be comfortable putting PK and Markov back together.

I hope they bring on Del Zotto. One year deal. No risk. He'd be an RFA again next year so it could end up being a great move. If he sucks, waive him.

His situations reminds me Komisarek. When paired with a very good puck moving D he can contribute and look better than he really is. And he needs to play on the left side...

I think like Gorges he can be expendable when a Beaulieu, Tinordi or Pateryn who have a more well-rounded game are ready.

Not saying he has a high value but his salary should not e very hard to unload alot of teams would like a hard hitting D.

They chose to move Gorges.

I'm fine with that.

yes agree. guys like Gorges, if they aren't being phased out of the game then their value is certainly diminishing. skating ability is becoming the defenceman's primary value asset, because they're the guys that drive possession and teams are starting to really pay attention to that with all of the advanced data at their disposal. guys like Gorges and even Emelin/Weaver will always have a role in this game, particularly on the PK, but you're seeing them phased out of top-4s. except in Washington.

I would say it's true with second tiers stay at home D. Guys like Seabrook, Suter, Vlasic etc. will look good with anybody.

Vlasic is probably the only true stay at home in those 3.

Think it happens all the time but they don't talk about it every time, unlike right now, where all you seem to hear about is planes incident?

Make sure they have a full load of flares on board, never know when you'll need countermeasures

Good year for plane crashing, trainwrecks and buswrecks. Not much global warming or forest fires talk

Remember last summer when Lac Megantic was burned to the ground?

The following weeks, it's like there were derailing trains twice a week...

I think it's the media just paying more attention to it...
