How often do planes disappear from radars and end up landing safely somewhere unexpected?
They will find it...most likely crashed in mali |

Beaulieu, Gilbert and the other 2 rookies are huge unknowns. i think the defence will struggle big time early on with breaking guys in and new pairings, but by the second half it will be in good shape. it will have to be because we won't score many goals. |

I hope they bring on Del Zotto. One year deal. No risk. He'd be an RFA again next year so it could end up being a great move. If he sucks, waive him. |

Meh, they already have 3 young guys fighting for a spot. What kind of message would that give them ? |

i don't see the point of bringing in del Zotto. i don't see the point of bringing in any defencemen to be honest with you. they have 3 guys who, if they aren't ready by now, chances are they never will be, and they have to find out if these guys are part of the long term solution. i see no point in burying Nathan Beaulieu in Hamilton for MDZ. i'm all for patience, but these 3 guys have now spent 2 full years in the AHL. it's time to poop or get off the pot, especially with Beaulieu and TInordi in the last year of their ELCs. |

You need internal competition. Not to mention that injuries always pile up. Like I said, if Beaulieu/Tinordi or heck even Pateryn/Nygren are better, then waive him. No way he went from being a 40 pts/20 min. d-man to completely sucking.
It's a worthy gamble IMO. |

I don't disagree.
But like Gally two years ago, he started on the press box, he got his chance and ran with it. I see no point in simply handing them the spot. We need depth as well. But I also see what you're saying. I'd like to see Beaulieu and Tinordi get a fair shot. |

the entire idea of needing internal competition is horsepoop. if your rookies and unproven players need internal competition to bring their best effort, then they're unlikely to amount to much. it's a line that management feeds fans to appease them.
and the problem with your logic is that Beaulieu and Tinordi might not be better than MDZ right now. but how are they ever going to get better without NHL exposure? the Canadiens have to be willing to live with the growing pains that will come with playing young defencemen. |

but how are you handing them the spot? there is 1 spot open in the top 6 at this point and 3 guys who seem NHL ready. |

No way Beaulieu eats 20 mins + per game. It will look like this:
Markov-Subban
Emelin-Gilbert
Weaver-Beaulieu Tinordi
Or switch Emelin and Markov. |

I don't think so...they already have 4 guys fighting for 1 spot, why bring a 5th one ? Plus MDZ is as much a gamble as the others... |
