Agree with johnnyboo on the Nylander comparison. I posted after the draft that I thought the Habs did better at 26 than the Leafs did at 8.
Why? Well from the videos and write-ups I have seen Scherbak is a very
determined and accomplished two way player already.He has very good
offensive skills although Nylander more flashy at this point. The big reason is that Scherbak is 6' 2' - 190 and will get stronger. He'll be able to handle tough NHL play sooner, better and longer. |

Yeah he's russian, KHL and all.
But what I like about that draft is if he makes it to the NHL he's top-6 potential all the way.
Not a Chipchura, Leblanc, McCarron. High risk. high reward let's hope it pays off. |
