Pietrangelo signed that deal after his ELC expired. PK wanted a long term deal after his ELC expired and if he had his way, he'd be signed for the next 2-3 years for less money than Pietrangelo. Montreal didn't want to do it that way. so fine. same way Montreal benefited from having Subban at a greatly deflated price the last 2 years, they're going to have to pay through the nose for the next 2-3 years until his annual cap hit balances out.

Don't think Beaulieu could do worse than Subban offensively, playing every single PP for the whole 2 minutes? 10 goals. $10M
