Only problem with Summer is it is too (frank)ing hot, I work in an aluminium foundry and it can be like 50 (frank)ing degrees inside that female dog.

Pfffttt....never complain about hot weather. Its awesome.

Anyone run into Hall and Ebs at Stampede? They were out a couple times. A buddy of mine snapped a couple pics with them at cowboys.

I always liked Samwise but he was too much skill and never about too much else.

Sam was a good player that needed support...which never came.

I think he'll get an opportunity on the PP, frankly. Picking arco over Draisaitl (if he's here) is exactly the kind of lesson that Eakins likes to teach rookies to keep them working hard.

And - admittedly knowing little about Leon's faceoff prowess - I think Arco may be the best faceoff-winning option on the 2nd unit. Which should boost his numbers a bit.

Still, he hasn't shown to be an incredibly gifted NHL playmaker to date, and the fickleness of NHL fans manifests itself as this: Every April they seem to marvel at the grit and hard work of teams like Boston, LA and even Chicago, but by December they poop on the player who embodies those qualities if they don't make the grade offensively.

Less a dman or two, this is as close to the roster that Oilers fans have been wailing for as it's been in years, and I'm going to be in one foul mood if fans aren't willing to lie in the bed they've made.

- Morris

i agree, this team is the best team we have seen in a long time. Holes are being closed by legitimate NHL quality.

As long as the team can get to .500 or better I will be content. then MacT can fill the final few spots foir the season after.

Then NHL dominance will follow...

All I'll say about Arcobello is that after deifying him last year and slagging Gagner in comparison: If Arco only happens to score 30 points this year, anyone who turns on him deserves this team and the mess they're in.
- Morris

Phew...I'm in the clear then...I only want Arco to be our modern day Marty Resoner.

Ebs and Perron were both still <6' and < 200#.

Give SG Perron and Purcell for a year...his faceoffs may not get better, by much, but I bet the possession numbers get better. Or give him Pouliot and Purcell and see his possession move up.

Instead he was playing with small guys like him, that even though they were hard working, they were too easy to push around by the size of the guys they had to match up against.

Tambi needed to fill those spots and never did.

I hate to suggest it as there's very little evidence of such ability in the NHL to date, but I wouldn't count Lander out of the mix for either 2C or 3C. Granted, he'd need to show the way he does in the AHL, but with new assistants (one who's VERY familiar with him), openings at both middle-6 C spots, and enough quality offensive wingers to cover the top-9, this is THE make or break year for him. I for one look forward to seeing what he brings to camp!

-10, the ice is a little soft. I like hard ice, the puck glides so nice when the ice is hard.

I'd like to see him on the roster this year for many games.

If this were the NFL, I'd want to see him win the position battle at 4RW over Pitlick, Pinizotto and Gazdic for sure. Maybe as the year goes on, we could transition him into centre.

so hard to believe he can be a PPG+ player in the AHL n struggle to put up 2 points in the NHL.

1 year 1 way 600K deals for both Arco n Lander. Maybe EDM wants them to fight for the non-Draisaitl spot n see what they have in 'em

Wonder how much having Hall-RNH-Ebs in OKC half of last year hurt guys like Lander/Hamilton/Pitlick/Martindale/n to an extent MPS.

Lander is definitely the forgotten man, partially because of his stint last year where he produced jack sh!t, but I think mainly because he isn't shiny and new, and fans have an obsession with unopened packages (basically the same reason people are sour on Yak-like somehow he doesn't have the same potential now as he did when he was drafted )
The thing that got me thinking about Lander was Rocky Thompson's assessment of his NHL stint. The guy is a center, and not only is it hard to learn a new position (the guy never, ever played Wing in the AHL), but he had to learn it with new line mates in the best league in the world. I think he deserves a chance to prove he can play with Perron and Purcell at least.

I wear my skates like 3-3.5 sizes smaller than my shoes, so they're already pretty numb. Killer when it's -30 n lower. Gotta take 'em off n warm up every 10 minutes.
