They're going to look for a centre, because they don't want to rush Leon Draisaitl for no reason. Same goes for Darnell Nurse. Sault Ste. Players are weird dude.

I'm not entirely sure if you can order shorter sticks to be honest. When you see unused pro-stock 80% the sticks are the same height. Ben Eager's stock sticks were the same as Gagner's. What guys that use shorter ones tend to do is just have the specs altered so that they become "normal" after cutting them down.

Unrelatedly related, I played with a guy who wouldn't cut his sticks down because he thought the saw jeopardized the integrity of the shaft and would instead spend forever with the file to take the inch or so he wanted off.

Reebok spent like 3 years trying to duplicate Sherwood's blades for Sid.

The companies will go all out for stars to use their stuff. A lot of guys don't even use the stick they are "using".

A lot of guys used the Vapor XXX stick but just had Vapor XXXX stickers and paint on it. Hardly any guys in the NHL use or ever used the Stealth models from like 2007-2010. They were all the SE but painted to look like the stealth.

Before Ovechkin switched to Bauer, his CCM sticks were actually Bauer ones but they'd be sent to CCM for recovering.

I remember reading that Sid's skates aren't actually Reebok and they're Bauer or Easton and some poor sap at Reebok has to custom image the outside of the boot so it looks like Reebok.

Wow, I didn't know it was that extensive! Makes you wonder if it's the same situation for goalies. I remember back as a kid (and even randomly to this day), so much of the gear "sets" never felt all that great. I wonder if certain goalies prefer certain product and then have the other company put their logo on it. So a goalie sponsored by RBK but he likes Vaughan better.

Nah I'm too short to do that. I'd be using the file for like a full day.

I do go to weird lengths to order the sticks in that I like though. I hate change. I bulk ordered 12 Vapor XXXX's a few years ago because I loved that stick. When I was done with those I ordered another 6 from this place in the US. But they wouldn't ship to Canada so I had them sent to a friends dorm in Portland, then up here.

But the price the US place was selling for was so cheap I didn't actually lose any money on the shipping.

I go to a place in St.Albert now that makes custom twigs. BASE hockey. They do a video session for an hour where they analyze your shot and the way you flex your stick. Been using them for about a year now.

I for one don't regret the Eberle contract, I just don't think it's specifically made Edmonton look like geniuses yet.

Quick and Scrivens both wear the same branded pad, but they are nothing alike.

I think it was Roloson who, when switching from TPS to Warrior, just sent his glove, and only his glove, in to get re-covered because he didn't want to switch.

Same thing with Brodeur. When he made the switch to Sherwood, all his stuff was still the CCM gear but Sherwood stitched their logos on it and repaired some of the wear.

Then last year I think Sherwood finally managed to reduplicate all the specs so they wouldn't have to repair and rebrand his CCM pads again.

Best blocker I ever had was a Ferland Orion blocker. That thing was so comfortable and never had any issues with absorbing a shot.

That BASE hockey place sounds awesome. I wish I was more into playing hockey in order to justify doing something like that myself. I like using the "Victor Hedman" Reebok stick. I forget the model number of it though.

I dig it. I still play enough I was able to justify it.

The video session is relatively mandatory and they price it into the first stick you order so its expensive. It was like 280, but then reordering the stick is only 180 and I'm getting a stick better than almost anything I used to pay $250+ on and better than anything I can find in a store for 150-200

Pitkanen is a no for numerous reasons.

It would then be a bit of a toss between the other two. Morris I like because he brings some grit to the backend, but is injury prone. McBain I like as he has age on his side and could be something bigger, but he really isn't good at one particular area.
