Its pretty reasonable if you ask me. I'd take that deal over Suter's. Only a couple guys league wide I'd take over Weber. - DTF69
14 mill a year. 13 mill in upfront bonus.
In the lockout shortened year he still got paid his entire bonus. He made 13.5 mill in the lockout season...ridiculous. |

This... Ebs is easily more than a 6 mill player per now... - saskoil21
Is he tho?
I think his offensive output along with marginal defensive play has his contract in question abit.
I understand why they did it initially, and I also believe that contract can and probably will be full value; but id certainly debate 'ebs worth way more than 6' after his last 2 seasons |

I think he means the way the actual cash worked out.
7.8M or whatever for Weber is reasonable for a cap hit - ystoil
Meh. Its a pretty common way to pay players. Especially with the threat of a lockout looming and bonus money having to be paid during one versus salary money being lost.
A lot of guys that signed deals prior to GBL3 had it structured to make the 2012-2013 season a bunch of bonus money. Even non-stars. |

Maybe if they hadn't dragged their Richards around they could have had terms that were more suitable for them. |

I didn't want to be the one to rain on Eberle parade, but I think you're right.
Aside from his offensive output he does little else to help the team, he's not physical, particularly great defensively or really strong/careful with the puck. |

Pretty sure you can throw Hallsy in that category too if you want to go that route... Or moreso the entire Oilers team last 2 seasons... |

Eberle is a complimentary guy, pretty good one at that. If the cap moves up, I have no issues with a 6 million 65 point complimentary player. To me, the only guys worth more than their contracts are Hall and Perron.
Eberle is worth the 6 mill, not more though.
If Nuge keeps trajecting upward, I'm sure he will be worth more. |

Ebs vision and hockeysense is nears tops on this team- I would rank Nuge as the only player of that level or higher... fact... |

That's how I feel. I think if anything he's about a 6 million dollar player. |

What's make you think Eberle won't get better? All of of guys seem like he will be 65 point guy and nothing more. Guys still young and could still improve lots |

But for the last 2 seasons, Hall has played at an offensive level considerably above Eberle. |

A little off topis, fellas, but in your opinions, which contradictory Anti-Oilers opinion is dumber?
1. Oilers are brutal for expecting another 18 year old high draft pick to be their savior this year.
2. The Oilers are brutal for having 3 1st over-alls in a row and still sucking.
? - Jeropotato
both of those are just mind numbing "i know (frank) all about hockey" stupid (frank)ing comments. You'd think someone would be embarrassed spewing out this ignorant poop, but no, they all think they're original and comedians. |

Hall has been top ten in scoring for 2 years running. Was 3rd in ppg last year. Hes over a ppg both years.
Id say hes the steal contract wise while at present, ebs contract is at least questionable.
But 65 last year is still very solid. I dunno, its close I think
I do want to say that I think ebs will be true value and complimentary players like him are vital. |

The original point was that those contracts were rich when they signed them with the hope that they'd be cheap by the end of them.
Hall has already begun to make his contract look cheap. Eberle makes his contract look fair imo. |

Couple that with the fact that Ebs production goes way down when he doesnt play with Hall....Ebs contract is marginal right now. He may look great this year or next but to say 6 mill last yr was a steal? |

There is also the fact that when they signed those deals almost everyone expected some sort of roll back. So they signed 6 thinking they would be 5.5 or so after the lockout.
