The few times I met the guy he was down to earth and nice. He had a house just over the bridge in Longport and used to be out and about on occasion.
Just like any famous person, it gets to be a hassle when everyone is looking for a piece of you. But it seemed to me that if you were nice and treated him with respect, you got the same in return. - MBFlyerfan
Yeah. I know the exact house. It's (frank)ing huge.
I usually just give guys the head nod when I see them. I feel bad interrupting a meal or conversation. |

Re: Lindros
He, clearly, wasn't the most mature person when he first broke into the NHL. I don't think his parents helped in that regard either.
The interaction between he and Stewie sounds a bit contrived. It just seems strange that a player would interact with an official in that way without something prior happening. The fact that the only other person who can verify the poster story has denied it, makes me think it's not entirely true.
My friend's dad was the architect for Lindros' house when he first came to Philly. He said Lindros was a very friendly guy and invited the whole family over for dinner the day construction was complete. My friends said he was really nice and even played some hockey with them in the driveway. Their only regret was saying no when he asked if they'd like to be the first ones to use the Lindros Bathroom. I still ridicule them today for saying no.
Re Flyers HOF:
Most of the guys Bill mentioned are deserving. I would like to see Watson, Lindros, Homer, McCrimmon and Desjardins get in sooner rather than later. - PhillySportsGuy
When Craig Carton from WIP went on air and falsely claimed Lindros missed a game due to hangover from partying at the Continental the night before, I called Eskins show to refute it. I worked there( also had season tix) and I worked the night in question. Had Lindros been there that night, I would have known. I called from work and about 15 minutes after the call went on the air, I got a call from Lindros' publicists. He/she thanked me for calling in to defend him and offered me tix. I declined, I was only doing what was right. A few weeks later Lindros comes in asking for me and gives me his seats anyway ( the same ones he caught flack from cause Joey Merlino sat there too). He didnt have to do that, I always felt he got a bad rap from his earlier years.

People like him are probably the same ones who complain about never getting interviews with athletes. |

I disagree. Eric Lindros was often out with injuries and LeClair still managed to produce. Even after Lindros sat out for a season or moved on. It really wasn't until LeClair missed most of one season with a serious back injury where he was never the same. He never skipped a beat with that accurate wrister and deadly slap shot but the speed was lost after he hurt his back. Not that he was a speedy guy to begin with. - SuperSchennBros

Per John Jaeckel (the Hawks blogger on HB) today:
[Bowman] addressed the press on Friday, most notably discussing potential trades (vague) and the likelihood of signing 2010 first round pick Kevin Hayes. Reading (listening) between the lines, one gets the sense Hayes (or his agent) have shown a sense of entitlement, and Bowman's comments suggest he's having none of it.
I can't predict whether the Hawks will sign Hayes. My spider sense says he probably ends up signing with the Bruins or Rangers. And it really is impossible to say whether that will be a tragedy comparable to trading Dominik Hasek for a 4th round pick, or a footnote in the career of a marginal NHL player |

I'm also not a fan of some of Stewart's blogs calling people out, and tooting his own horn. When those people don't have a chance to respond and tell their side of the story. And I'm sure there are plenty of incidents where Stewart as a young ref was taught a lessen or made to look foolish by a coach or a player. |

i liked his approach at first, but i'm with you. it's already worn thin. a little too much preaching, and father knows best kind of stuff, while publicly shredding a guy for no real reason. |

Michael Renberg was a benefited from playing with Lindros and LeClair. Dainius Zubrus was a benefited from playing with Lindros and LeClair. Keith Jones benefited from playing with Lindros and LeClair. John LeClair wasn't a sexy name with Montreal but I feel he was an underrated contributor to that 93 Cup. John LeClair was also a very good United States Olympian. I think it's unfair to take from LeClair and give to Lindros. The same some take from Gagne and give to Forsberg. Forsberg only played here 100 games during two seasons. Gagne was always a good player as a Philadelphia Flyer. Forsberg certainly helped but Forsberg didn't make Gagne. |

The Flyers fandom will explode when Bobby Ryan signs with another team next off season - Winning
I actually believe Bobby Ryan will become a Philadelphia Flyer within the next year. Ottawa doesn't look very good on paper right now. The more we talk about Lindros and LeClair, I cannot help but wonder who's Giroux's LeClair. While there are other names I would prefer over Ryan right now, I definitely wouldn't be disappointed if we aquired him. I'm a believer that Bobby Ryan could definitely play at Claude Giroux's speed. This isn't to say Jake Voracek can't keep up, he just needs to become more of a difference maker. |

Renberg woung hsve produced and been a hell of a player regardless of with whom he played. He was very a talented, skilled player with great skating ability. |

If this were true, he would have. He was a good player but not on the same level as Lindros and LeClair. |

He did, but when did this become a discussion if these players were on the same level. You made it sound like Renberg was Rob Brown |
