Spencer Abbott, over 1PPG in the AHL. I don't understand what this continuous fascination with size is, as if anybody under the height of 6ft can't play hockey in Toronto. If he does well in camp, start him off on the third line and see if he can help out with possession. Let's not forget that Brendan Gallagher is similar in size, and makes a contribution through hard work and grit, as well as some decent playmaking ability.

lots of little guys with speed light up the AHL but do nothing in NHL. PArticularily after the grind starts to wear on them. Cory Conacher's a good example.

Abbot's a small skill player, not much use in the bottom six, and he isn't good enough for 2nd line... ATM anyway.

yes but the mosquitoes are less populated there than the other place you guys mentioned as my wife is a buffet for them. They all go the her so she doesn't go to places such as killbear.

Cool - I was back home and at the cottage on the bay with the parents the past two weekends. The mosquitos have calmed down - they were brutal about a month ago.

I just want to see his ability to keep a cycle going (hopefully this is something that the leafs strive for in the upcoming season) before he's written off. Leafs gotta find some of that unlikely talent from somewhere, or we're boned next season.

If you want possession, Carrick is one who should get a look, he is really good along the boards.

Reimer can get the hell out of Toronto so he can follow in the footsteps of Raycroft.

Edit; FIIIIIRRRRRRSSSSSTTTTTT

Remember this?

Leafs jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Lu gets pulled and Raycroft shuts the door to allow the Canucks to win the game 5-3.

Funniest thing, the leafs were still paying the majority of Raycroft's salary.

I believe Burke pulled the trigger on the Stajan/Dion trade a day or two after that game.

Agreed. However, the more we keep the puck in the offensive zone, the less we end up running around in our own end. Great for holding a lead.

I despise those things - I wasn't back between Easter and July so I missed them.

How long's your commute to Bell Lake and how often do you make the trip?

It is roughly depending on traffic and stops about 2.5 hours, usually we go up 3 weekends a month between July and August, the last week of August is for a full week to 10 days.

2.5 hours isn't bad at all. I can remember putting in that much time heading North on the 400 between the 401 and Barrie.

Now it's a 4+ hour East/West trip or 5.5 when the wife and kids are with me.

The worst stretch is on 400 but once you clear where Mac D is, it starts to open up.

Because they get lost.

There's an evolutionary theory that back in the good old hunter-gatherer days, men would travel great distances to kill a wooly mammoth or sabre-toothed tiger, and then find their way home.

Women would stay in the cave or hut, picking fruits, veggies and berries, and looking after children.

They never developed a sense of direction.

Not my theory, but I can believe it.

I assume you're on the 400 until you hit 124.

I don't know if you were making the trip on old hwy 69 back 12+ years ago - that always had the potential to be a nightmare if there was an accident. So much better now.

Every time we go to the cottage my daughter says, daddy I think you are lost, I say why? She says I don't see the big roller coaster (Wonderland)

I hope they try Frattin with Kadri and Lupul again. It may be a stretch but I think getting linked up with some familiar faces, those of which he had some success playing with, should be good for him.

He can get worse if RC limits his mins after a few bad games
RC was giving him less than 10 mpg last season for a stretch of games
He needs to play minimum 15 mins
