I understand it's the deal breaker but to get a player of webers caliber, especially a top 5 to 8 Dman in the league a player of couturiers skill "should be" going the other way IMO

Ummmmmmm...nooooooooo. b schenn isnt going anywhere and neither is coots. Hextal will not move them. We dont have to either. We still got a little over a mil in cap space to sign someone. If we can move vinny , sure. If not oh well. He will be on our team next year.

I think adding akeson or cousins would be sweet enough. Couturier is untouchable IMO. The kid finished 8th in selke voting and has selke written all over him for many years to come.

Without a num 1 dman first round exits is all Philly is good for. I agree with not trading couturier but schenn is expendable for a num 1. Laughton is ready to play NHL minutes so losing schenn wouldn't be as painful. Our d prospects are years away from making a serious impact and none are guaranteed num 1s weber is and in his prime. Adding him makes Philly instant contenders.

Watchin him play every game is something special to watch. His offense isn't there yet but his defensive prowess is remarkable. I hold him with such high value I wouldn't include much more in a trade for weber.

So I know Regina doesn't and probably never will have a team but the players going home thing got me thinking and a Regina team would look like

Kunitz-Getzlaf-Eberle
Mikkelson-Dumba
Harding

With Bozak and Hartnell as honorable mentions and Dubnyk as a backup goalie. I know the D is pretty terrible but for a city of less than 250k I think it's pretty solid. I guess you could count Ryan Murray from White City as well its pretty much Regina

yea because the preds are really gonna take on lecavalier's bad contract when they are giving up weber? wtf

if flyers are serious about weber, you're looking at schenn bros + couturier + laughton + 1st round pick at MINIMUM. even then i doubt the preds would trade weber unless they are getting simmonds/voracek in the deal.

flyers fans keep trying to land arguably one of the best dmen in the world and expect to trade their junk to the preds to land him?

Funny, he scored more than half of his career goals in his rookie season.....07-08.

LAK isn't going to pay nearly as much as the others. no cap space. unless they're not able to re-sign dwight king and can play mueller on the LW, hard to see the rationale here.
- hiway39

I think a reclamation project such as Mueller would take a very low salary to get a chance on a team such as LA.

I think it would be a low salary for any team that signs him.

Just stop this crap already, Hopefully Preds will be able to pick up the scorer they need ad the season progresses. Excited here about young forwards on the way...

and shea weber makes us a contender with stripping our team at forward?leaving a gaping 2c spot open that laughton is not and will never be even projected to take over? No no no . Wait two years while our core is still young and our d prospects are ready. ghost maybe this year and maybe even morin. If not this year def next. Morin put on 20lbs and didnt look out of place in pre season last year.

i guess if ek said that Leafs were in on mueller too, it would've been overboard.
- hiway39

hey the leafs are only in on 95% of guys...gotta make up that 5% somewhere.
Don't worry, there will be updates about ROR, Setoguchi, Phaneuf, Reimer,
Gardiner, Del Zotto, Brodeur and anyone else supposedly coming or leaving the leafs soon enough!

so you are not willing to move brayden schenn in a package for Weber?

Don't worry, Poile would never consider it unless it was couturier, Schenn, Laughton and a 1st

just a " slight" over payment for Weber. As a Flyer fan I do wish the Weber talks would end as it will not happen. Your thoughts on 3 young top prospect centres, 2 which have proved they can play at NHL level. A solid 4 Dman, and a number one pick for Weber... Please be reasonable.

Laughton could absolutely take a 2c eventually. Play him as 3c move couturier up 2c. They d u mentioned could play but are they going to make an impact? Doubtful for at least a few more years. We can keep waiting for a num 1 to appear. And hopefully one I those guys becomes one but it won't be for at least 4 years. The core in place now is young and ready to contend. 4 years is long time to wait and those guys will be getting older
