Terry will buy a gym for him and a personnel trainer in BC. He will not benefit if he is in the press box nursing injuries . The NHL schedule is pretty grueling compared to Junior. If he is ready I want him here . If Tim & Ted determine that he is not . That will be fine with me as well.

The other benefit Sam has falls on his brothers. They know the greuling process of getting into, or trying to get into, the NHL. If Reinhart is here after his 9 games, then it is apparent that he is deemed to be ready.

Murray won't keep him here to get him killed. If he isn't ready, then he won't be here. Murray is not doing things to make fans happy. He's building a winning team. He has a vision and will not let the media dictate that.

they seem thin down the middle if murray doesnt plan on keeping him longer than 9 games. you are basically looking at ennis and girgensons, and whoever is after them will provide no offense whatsoever. dont care if reinhart stays or goes, just seems like now would be a good time to grab a center if hes going back.

girgensons was physically ready for the pro game back in 2012...reinhart looks like steve rogers next to him...not only that...there's the physical demands of an 80 game season
- Michael Pachla

To be fair, between Juniors, the World Junior Classic, and the playoffs he played 80 games this year.

It's a more pro schedule than say what Armia would be used to coming from over seas

Did Tim tell You that ? He has also said he will have no problem sending him back if he does not think he is ready.

He confidently stated at the draft and at the press conference introducing Reinhart that

“We have a potential top-two center that can play for us next year,”

He's also said he doesn't think he needs juniors next year and has other quotes that you can look up to see that anyone can surmise that as long as Reinhart doesn't dud out this off season he'll play here.

Acting as a Devil's Advocate Larsson, Mitchell, McCormick, Foligno could all take that role if needed.

I think you will be the one leading the masses with a pitchfork if do they decide to send him back . I trust Tim and Ted in deciding what is right . Who cares about giving the fans something to be happy about. I could care less either way . Just want him here for the right reasons.

Both his brothers got sent back to Junior and Griffin was a #4 overall pick.

I don't care. Do I want him here? Yes for sure.

But I'm literally just stating what Murray has all ready said. Using this, to me it seems pretty obvious he's staying here baring a very, very poor camp.

He did not stand out in the scrimmage as we had all hoped.

Funny, I was saying something similar after the scrimmage to my father that I bet the guys at WGR550 are looking at the Corsi from the game.

I like advanced stats, but my god some people think they are more important than actual goals

- sbroads24

Ask the leafs if they should have looked at advanced statistics. I read an article and it clearly talked about how their possession numbers, and Corsi related perfectly to their meltdown at the end of the year. They were unable to keep their insanely high shooting percentage up and the horse shoe fell out of their behind

Maybe that's your opinion, but I thought he made some really nice plays. He was playing against Girgensons and Ristolainen most of the time. Two guys that have NHL experience,

You can't ignore "advanced" statistics (I put "advanced" in quotations out of respect for a friend who is a statistician by trade, who laughs when people call the likes of Corsi, Fenwick, etc. "advanced") You also can't take them as gospel.

I think what he was trying to say is that he was hoping that after the game, there would be almost no question in everyone's mind that he was the best player on the ice. I certainly never expected that, but I can see why some would.

He was okay , but I was hoping we would see flashes of brilliance . I did not see them. If he stays up he will be playing against players with NHL experience every night . I like the kid and thought he should be our pick since last February . I just don't want him kept here for the sake of being here. I want him to deserve it . We have made that mistake before.

I agree you need to be realistic about it but it does have a place in the game and it warrants attention. The Kings had the best possession numbers in the league last year and the sabres had the worst and look at the teams positions at the end of the year.

Reinhart was never really a flashy player even in the WHL, just gets the job done and makes the players around him better.

Even though I'm not much of a gambler, this caught my eye:

http://sports.yahoo.com/b...an-bickell-233311820.html

There's the argument that they don't reflect probabilities with regard to odds put on the sport by gambling companies. Which is nonsense. Travis Yost did the math and found that over the last seven years, if you bet on every series winner based on nothing but their score-adjusted fenwick for over the previous 20 games, you would be correct 68 percent of the time. Ask any gambler if that's a good. Vegas is pretty obviously behind on this sort of thing; their over-under on the Leafs point total this season was 96.5, and I kick myself every day for not taking out a mortgage to bet the under on that. The stats showed just how bad of a line that was, and how bad of a line that was showed how little people were betting based on this data.

I posted that article on this site.

I like advanced stats. They are useful, but they aren't the end all be all.

He was also playing with teammates he's never played with before after only 1 day of practice. You have to temper your expectations. There were a lot of guys I expected more out of to be honest. I would have thought Girgensons would be a bit more dominant than he was. Same with Ristolainen. The only guys that really stood out, were the undrafted guys. And somehow Leduc.

Right, which is why it's useful. But to judge a specific player (How WGR550 famously does) you have to look at the entire picture.

Off zone start %, quality of linemates, Qual of Comp, etc, etc

Which they never do and it's frustrating.

Well according to Mr Squirrel Girgensons only won 41% of his faceoffs last year and can't score so we are all screwed .

It's going to have to be the ones that go in sync with his skating. I want it to match his heartbeat and brain activity.
