He is that bad he broke down in tampa that's why they bought him out. Philly was dumb to give him a 5 year contract! I thought he had two years left in him when he left tampa.

i think he'll play much better this year

he was a lavy guy and didn't have a place when berube took over

since they couldn't move him all parties are on the same page and he will be used more efficiently this season

Did they fix his back problem ? When I watched vinny play vs the lightning he could not skate vs us well at all.

1. #3 is worth at least a higher round pick, a legit player now, a prospect and maybe a bad contract to balance out, or the Leafs eat up a sum of his cost. The Leafs would be worse off without him.

2. #3 would be traded for the simple fact of getting rid of that deal and actually making a statement that there really needs to be a change in this team.

3. #3 isn't worth what the Leafs would want, and he wouldn't waive his NTC anyway.

Ok, I'm sure there's more than 3 answers but you know what I mean.

He doesn't make sense in Tampa at all - especially if they value left - right d pairings.

There's no way he's ahead of Hedman. He's too expensive to be a #3 d man.

Stamkos is a world class player, there is no doubt about that. If Toronto were to trade Dion to Tampa Bay, I don't imagine he would go alone. It would be Dion and a forward maybe Kadri, or some sort of prospect. In my opinion it might not make sense to acquire Victor Hedman because Toronto has a plethora of defensemen in the Marlies waiting to get their shot at the big club. Now although there are rumors about Stamkos leaving for free agency in two years and POTENTIALLY coming to Toronto,there are no indications he has any interest in doing so aside from liking a tweet. He is the face of the franchise and they do not know how Drouin will turn out. And if Stamkos does go to free agency what's to say he doesn't go to another team. If Toronto isn't doing well maybe he goes to a western conference team that is doing well. As great as it would be to have a line of Kessel-Stamkos-JVR I do not see that happening anytime soon. If Dave Nonis is able to trade Dion then good for him, but I think that Dion will be with the Leafs in October and Stamkos will potentially sign a long term extension in Tampa. Rant over

It is going to take a lot more than you are offering to get Stamkos.
Start with Phaneuff, Kadri , Top Prospect and 3 1sts would be a starting point
