"Evander Kane for Bailey, De Haan and a pick
This one is interesting and there have been more than a few murmurs that these two teams have had talks. If you are Garth Snow you are drooling at the chance of having Kane and Tavares on a line together, drooling. However this deal gets tricky with the pick going back to Winnipeg, what is it exactly. The Islanders do not have a 2015 first and would the Jets want to wait two years to realize something from a trade in the form of a draft pick? I’m also not so sure Bailey makes a ton of sense unless it’s simply salary savings. De Haan on the other hand is LHD and is intriguing. I see this one as a starting point if you throw in Grabner instead of the pick."
I love the idea of Kane playing with Tavares. The price will be high and rightfully so but I doubt Snow trades DeHaan even for someone of Kanes caliber. We need defense. DeHaan had an excellent season last yr, is home grown, and very young. He stabilized our blue line as a rookie towards the end and just got signed to a pretty good 3 yr contract. His ceiling is pretty damn high from what I've seen. Don't see him going anywhere for just about anyone. |

Trading away Bailey, Grabner AND Lee would essentially sacrifice all of the forward depth that was added in signing Grabovski and Kulemin. That might be worth doing for the right defenseman but Bogo ain't it.
Also, I think the ship may have sailed on the Isles and E Kane. They probably were kicking the tires a month ago but have since added some serious talent at LW.
I see them standing pat unless they can add a legit top-4 defenseman at a reasonable cost.

So because the isles have tons of prospects they should overpay just cause they do? Is this really Garth snow? Come on admit it - 28Girouxsalem28
The Jets would actually laugh at that offer. Lee looks great and I'm a Grabner fan but that trade is lopsided. You're right about the overpaying part you just don't have the right team. The Isles win the deal hands down. |

That is way, way, way too much for the Isles to pay. - Snowblind
You're joking right? Bailey, Mayfield, Grabner, and Lee for Kane and Bogosian would probably get you laughed off the phone and your number blocked by Chevy. Lee shows promise, Bailey has been pretty much a borderline bust(I'm saying that and I actually like the kid), Grabner is a versatile forward and Mayfield is a decent prospect for a pretty damn good forward and a defenseman bordering on becoming elite. We win that trade hands down. |

Nobody see's what I'm trying to do
but in fairness, those players would be controlled for Winnipeg which would be beneficial to the organization..... |

According to some, Bogo is not far from being a Bailey on D (a high 2008 pick yet to put it all together and starting to get bypassed on the depth chart).
With the Grabo and Kulemin signing, the Isles may have finally settled their depth scoring issue. Making a 3-forward for Kane trade would send them back toward being a one-line team.

I understand your point & view but Bailey & Grabner are expendable now to isles and they are both young and productive just need a fresh new start, it happens to players...

Nelson-Neilsen-Conacher

How is that a 1 line team??
Plus even if Bogo is being passed, he still would help us now over Donovan and waiting for Mayfield. |

Conacher is intriguing but, let's face it, the worst team in the league didn't even qualify him. Penciling him in in the top 9 is asking for trouble. I would also like to see Martin in the role that Boulton has been in; a 13th forward called upon when more truculence is needed.
As of right now, the Isles have the best forward depth in the Metro and are in the top 3 (with TB and Bos) in the conference. If they mortgage that depth, it better be for a very good vet defenseman. |

No trade with the isles will include De Haan or Reinhart, in 2 years time our top 4 will be Hamonic, De Haan, Reinhart, Pulock. Snow is not going to sacrifice any of these guys for a locker room distraction.
The more realistic offer would be bailey, donovan, grabner, which is already over payment as Kane's ceiling is a 30 goal scorer and Grabner has the ability to reach that number plus his PK skills are well above avg. |

Couldn't agree more....
But adding Kane next to JT would be 40-50g |

For
Kane, 2015 3rd
We can probably just wait til FA and throw together an offer for Bobby Ryan. I doubt the Flyers come up with the best offer. - hereticpride
With what cap space? Pronger and Umberger are on the books for 3 years, Grossman and L.Schenn, B.Schenn and Voracek for 2 years. The only cap space we get is from Emery, Timonen and Shultz, that leaves us with 3 mill in cap space next season. I highly doubt Hextall wants to use LTIR option 2 a second year in a row since it is the least desirable option. |

LOL never going to happen; Brayden Schenn kind of stinks, sorry to tell you. And Bobby Ryan in free agency, huh? With what cap space? |

Why would the Jets trade Kane right now anyway? They would clearly be selling low at this point. If I am the Jets, I'd start the season with him, give him some favorable minutes, see if he can start the season on fire and THEN trade him.

Yes because a kid playing his 1st full NHL season scoring 20 goals and 41 points is consider bad.... |

He's overrated. Those first 2 offers, especially the PHX offer, are overpayments.
Richards and 3rd for Kane. I wouldn't go more then that. I'm hesitant to throw in the pick, but I'd do it to offset the age difference. |

The same Richards who was in rumors to be bought out because he stunk too much for the money he's making?
You really wouldn't get much for Richards, especially not Kane. He's mainly a salary dump at this point. |

Peter Tessier: The Best offers for Evander Kane Reviewed
Taking a look at the best deals offered and if they make sense for the Jets to finally deal Evander Kane. - Peter.Tessier
You are never, EVER getting Yandle for Kane. Not even straight up, let alone adding the 1st and Samuelsson. Yandle is an elite PMD, also a 2x All star. |

I don't know if it's just such an obvious deal, or if you got the idea from me, but I wrote about the EXACT same trade here:

Personally, I'd love to see Kane on the 'Yotes. - James_Tanner

O'Reilly + 2nd for Kane, turns into a 1st if O'Reilly doesn't sign but jets would have him for 2 years to sell him on the beauty of Winnipeg or throw a boat load of cash at him he's greedy. |

I'd do something like Perron + 2nd rounder + Gernat for Kane
I'd rather use Perron for a centre but if we can turn Perron into Kane and hope he turns it around, we either sell high and trade him for a centre midway in the year or keep a power forward in the making. |
