Penner is a good player for the 10 games a season that he actually tries. In his days with Edmonton he would dominate one game and sleep walk through 5. Brian Gibbons is a more physical player, despite Penner being 6'4 240lbs. - Ben37

I'll play.
Penner (Slow, but can put it in the net)
Setoguchi (Same as Penner)
Bissonnette (Another Downie type for the fourth line, and cheap)
Booth (would be higher, but is injury prone)
Malone (Same as Booth, plus off ice issues)
Mueller (Last man standing)
That's what I think. |

Max value for us, is probably 3 mil, maybe a tad less. He did not file for arbitration, and with over half the season of him playing half assed, he has almost ZERO leverage.
Maybe they are fighting over the length of the contract? I don't think any of us really threw out the length of his deal hardly at all. Is he trying to get 4 mil, but for 5 more years, instead of just 3 for two years?
If he gets whatever was up his ass removed and plays to his potential... then factoring in the cap increases, his value in that scenario would be roughly 5 million if just kept for two more years of play at that level. - Guile
5 mil? No thanks. Flat Stanley has done nothing to prove that he deserves 5 mil. His one playoff performance proved that he might be worth 3 mil if he decides to play hockey. |

So at no surprise coming in at number 1:
The Gooch (young and has serious rebound potential playing with talented line mates again)
Penner (Old and slow, but can produce)
Booth (injury prone, but he's not ancient and can produce)
Malone (too old to function)
Bissonnette (My boy. Would be higher but we have no need for him at this juncture)
Mueller (Kid sucks. Move on.) |

I am wondering if Horniquist will be like a Ryan Malone type around the net, when he was decent |

Poor Ray and Dan. Fired and banished from all the fun Pens social media and wiffleball.
I thought we might have heard something from them by now. A radio interview....anything.... - YouMeAndDupuis9
Dan is still in Pittsburgh. He was in the car dealership my brother works at looking to buy a car for his wife last week. |

Booth circa 2009 I'd take, but his concussions took the game out of him. Negative on all of them. There are more talented, cheaper players in camp right now. |

Was he shopping for an Audi? Get it? Cause he's Audi here!?!
EDIT: That was bad. Can't get out of bed today and pain killers are looping me out. |

Prospect camp update: Bryan Rust lifts his team to victory over Kapenen's team during the 3 v 3 tourney championship with a shootout goal. We all know who the best prospect is.

I love summer but hate that there is no hockey. They should make hockey a year long season with like a 1 month break. |

Today is proving to be a long frickin day. Really wish Ryan would write about Sid again for my entertainment.
And thank you NHL Network for replaying the '83 final for the 83rd time. |

I don't want any of those guys.
The only realistic guy out there I'm interested in is T.J. Gailiardi. I think he could further enhance the 3rd and 4th lines cheaply. It would also mean that Adams would be on his way out, and that's something that needs to happen. |

At a million to a mill and a half why not take a flyer on a guy that could find his form again? If they stink no big deal one year low cap hit deal |

Which ones are you speaking on? Not sure we have any young guys with top 6 potential outside of Kap and he's 17. I'm hopeful he makes the roster but realistically he probably doesn't.
And Recchi is the new player development coach |

Definitely a great signing. Now let's bring Barnaby to work as an assistant coach. That would be fun to watch |
