I'd be ok with that. I think Galiardi can play on either Couturier's line or the 4th line. Meuller can play in your top 6. - J35Bacher
It might be a stretch to say Mueller can play in the top 6. |

Fair enough. I actually agree with you. Just thought it was a deal that was close to realistic to discuss. - mickel25
I don't think it is. I don't think he's THAT MUCH better than B Schenn, let alone losing L Schenn and a 2nd. Even to offset "dumping" Vinny on them I wouldn't do it. |

I think the question is really how much better will he be? So much better that it's worth throwing in a bunch of players or draft picks along with Schenn? Based on Kane's inconsistency, nothing is a guarantee. How many goals would B Schenn score playing with Giroux? - MJL
30+ IMO |

Coburn could not be replaced by one player from this roster right now. I just thought he would be the most sought after D-man we have.
What if it was the Schenns, VLC and a 2nd for Kane? - mickel25
Another drastic overpayment. |

Persoanlly, I'm sick of the E Kane proposals. This has been going on for 2 years. Winnipeg is under no pressure to move him and they hold all of the cards. If they do move him, it's going to become a crazy bidding war and some team will overpay for him. I'd rather that not be the Flyers. |

As an aside, I'm leery of how many people seem to be penciling in Raffl as a top-6 winger. He's a very nice player, but he has trouble finishing, and you need to be able to finish if you're a top-6. Right now, he's a nice versataille bottom-6 player, to me. If you're counting on him as a top-6 player, that's a big, big risk. - jmatchett383
I don't think he is top 6. I think people overrate him a little. He is a good skater but do you think he has 15 - 20 goals in him. I don't. I see a good skater, good defensivley and gets in on the forecheck well. The problem is having a laack of solid wingers. I really only seeing i playing with Couturiers line because of the defensive assignments they get or on the 4th line. He can give a spot showing in the top 6 but I wouldn't rely on him there. |

I agree. Okay as a short term replacement for injury. But unless he finds more of a finishing touch, more suitable to a 3rd line spot. |

That's my feeling exactly. He's a very nice complimentary piece who can chip in some occasional offense and jump up if injuries/etc occur for a stint. |

I agree with you. I think it is intriguing because you get the "stud" LW and you get rid of VLC's contract long term. However, it is impossible to replace Coburn at this point of the offseason. Good move for the future but bad move for this year.
Follow up: Does B. Schenn plus a 1st get it done? Would you do it? - mickel25
Why give the extra first??? B. Schenn is a better player than E. Kane TODAY and he is a proven team player versus a drama queen. I wouldnt mind E Kane but it seems people want to over value him based on potential yet arent willing to offer our guys that same consideration. |

I don't think so. Guys has the skill and size. Look at the wingers we have tried there. If I had to pick Meuller or Raffl to play in my top 6 I would pick Meuller. |

I am fine with Schenn playing LW actually. I think he could possibly score 30 playing with Giroux. Just thought the trade was close enough to reality to discuss. |

He's also better than Rosehill, but that's also a case of the tallest midget. |

It may be what Winnipeg would ask, but it's not close to what the Flyers should agree to, or even consider. |

I just think Meuller has a better skill set to play in the top 6 then raffl. I would rather have Meuller say playing wing with Vinny and Simmonds.]

Not sure B. Schenn is better right now and the drama queen thing is probably overblown. I am fine with playing Schenn on the LW. Just thought it was an interesting discussion. |

Again, if we're picking who has the better skill set, I agree. Which is really an indictment of the Flyers' depth at wing more than praise for Mueller. |

And what's your reasoning? Why isn't skill enough? Hvae't we tried wingers with a lcak of skill long enough. He was a solid player until the concussion issues. Just put up a nice season in the swiss league with 24 goals and 22 assist. We lack skilled wingers.

Just to let you know but any FA still out there have warts. Unless we are getting a wing back in some trade any player looked at in FA right now isn't perfect or has something to question. Still he is young enough to take the chance on and as JMatchett said if he isn't playing in the top 6 then I wouldn't sign him. |
