Sounds like Hagg gets slid again: Petersson, Lauridsen, Manning, Gostisbehere, Lamarche, Alt, and Konan all under contract. |

Hägg will be with Phantoms. Manning is currently still a RFA. Konan is on the bubble. Lamarche could end up in Reading. |

Interesting how the Cechmanek trade played out. We essentially traded Cechmanek, Jim Vandermeer, Coling Fraser, and a second (Bryan Bickell) for Alexei Zhamnov and RJ Anderson. Not a great one, but not terrible either, as Zhamnov was pretty good during the Flyers' season remainder and subsequent ECF run. |

Hagg will be on the Phantoms this year. There's no way Lamarche and Konan get playing time ahead of him unless things go way south. |

I'm guessing either Lamarche or Konan end up in the ECHL or traded in a minor league deal to add some more scoring to the Phantoms.

I am intrigued to see how the phantoms shape up. With what seems to be a infusion of talent you add that with other players like Cousins and Alderson I hope we see a development in Cousins and Aldersons games. |

Zhamnov did play well in his short time as a Flyer. Kinda ran out of steam in the later rounds of the 2004 playoffs, but he was great against NJ |

He sure did. I think he scored the first goal in Game 5 against NJ. |

I liked Cechmanek...but he was a headcase.... Their defence made so many blunders in the Ottawa series and you could see Cechmanek seithing in the net....but when he was on, he really was a special talent.
Hopefully they sign Manning...he just turned 24....he showed improvement last year and it would be nice to see him take another step this year...It would be nice to see him flourish on a decent team....this is really a make or break year in his career so it's important for him to play somewhere that lends to his future. |

I have a feeling that Manning will just never make it. He seems like a slightly worse version of MAB, who was (at best) a #5/6 NHL defenseman. He's a good call-up candidate and is adequate at all facets of the game, but I don't think he'll ever stake down a full-time NHL job. |

Pretty much, I think he has a shot to be the 7th man by next year, but that's as far as he is going to go. |

Yep. And to me, that's fine. Even being a #6 NHL defenseman is a huge accomplishment in itself. Every team needs some good AHL-level players, and if he's content with that, I think he's a fine on to have. |

They qualified Manning... my bad. The rest makes sense.

My lasting memory of Zhamnov is when he had to try to protect his exposed hand from the swinging stick of Marty "Lady Byng" St Louis. |

Peter Zezel's first NHL goal and I remember it like it was yesterday:

I had erased those Canucks uniforms from my memory. Oh well, I guess it is back to counseling for me.

The time had come for the Flyers' relationship with Cechmanek to come to an end. On May 28, 2003, Philadelphia traded Cechmanek to the Los Angeles Kings for a 2004 second-round pick. The trade came just three weeks after the end of the Flyers' six-game loss to Ottawa.
If I'm not mistaken, I think Checko shutout the Flyers when he played them as a King, but I could be misremembering.

Good God Time Kerr is tall. - jmatchett383
Watching Kerr was like watching a man among boys. Imagine the best parts of John Leclair's game, but with an occasional temper. |
