There is a lot of talent down there. Most likely they will be Florida that we all know and love but there is a slim chance that, that team makes some noise.

That's the best part of all this. It's a media creation. The Jets have never said that they want to trade him and Kane hasn't ever said he has asked for a trade.

Chevy has said that he will make a move if it makes sense for the team and Kane keeps toying with the media by not giving straight answers.

It is way more likely that Chevy and Kane will go out for a beer and laugh about all the rumours than a trade happening.

I don't think they are better than the Isles. Nice adds with Mitchell and Bolland , a full year of Roberto, but I don't think that's enough to make them a playoff team. Ekblads NHL impact will be minimal next year, so IMO, no, they won't be all that much better.

Pretend the Sabres don't have the Isles' pick. Pretend the Isles are not even the Isles. Just a random NHL team. Then compare their roster right now to that of the Devils, Flyers, Jackets and Caps. Then throw in the Wings, who, despite being the Wings, barely made the playoffs out of your weaker Atlantic last year and have done absolutely nothing to improve themselves this offseason. If you can't see that the Isles are well within that mix then you have visions of McDavid and Eichel clouding your mind.

I put the flyers and jackets ahead of islanders. Also remember Detroit had a ton of injuries last year and the "weaker" Atlantic division had more playoff teams than the metro did and 3 of the top 4 positions. Going into this year I see the Atlantic as likely weaker and more top heavy with Boston Montreal Tampa and metro more competitive but after Pitt and NYR I'm not that scared of the division. Islanders will likely finish 5th in the division behind Pitt NYR Philly and Columbus so they'll be fighting for the 8th seed with Detroit Toronto jersey and Washington. My opinion anyway

I agree with that assessment except for the Flyers. All they've done this summer is trade away Hartnell, try to run Lecavalier out of town and play grabass with the Ottawa Police. Could be a long year for Old Man Comcast.
