I'll buy you a Stanley Cup my friend if it makes you feel alright
I'll get you anything my friend if it makes you feel alright
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy the Cup

I'll give you all I got to give if you say you'll love me too
I may not have a lot to give but what I got I'll give to you
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy the Cup

Can't buy the Cup, everybody tells me so
Can't buy the Cup, no no no, no

Say you don't need no Stanley Cup and I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of thing that money just can't buy
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy the Cup

Says the guy who's favorite team GM and owner screwed that team for almost a decade now.

What am I saying your GM is a master sales person. Everything gets ship out off NYI for nothing!

I agree. I can't believe he traded McDonagh for a washed up Gomez. That was the last straw for me

So true! Did you forget talking about Spezza, Chara, Luongo, Bertuzzi your 1st next year for Vanek right?

The difference in between the 2 teams right now are simple.

You guys sucked for a decade. At least the canadiens have learned from their mistakes

Better sell that Tavares jersey soon because at the rate your team is going. He's the next one out!

Because he's a black man with a personality. Everyone who plays hockey is supposed to be a shy farm boy who learned to play on his frozen pond secluded from societal norms and opinions.

In all seriousness, they made the mistake of actually acknowledging the things the media focused on as problems. They may not have done it directly, but by not coming out and defending Kane in any manner they essentially did. There really hasn't been any major issues as far as I know, they should have come out and backed Kane, and maybe tried to get him to address what they thought could use some work behind the scenes. But they just kind of let it snowball into a problem by not doing anything about it.

I don't see the Flyers trading Coburn or Schenn without getting knocked off there feet. I think Kane is a player they would go for but they need to get rid of Vinny's contract. The deal does have plus' and minus' for both teams.

what does clarkson have anything to do with the leafs being the richest NHL franchise? leafs could sign 100 clarksons and still have more money than your devils. nice try though.

That would make the Leafs go over the cap a tad.

If the Jets brass were smart (and they usually are), they would have sent Gary Lawless and Co. a nice little memo saying something to the effect of "Keep it up with the Kane rumors and we'll give you and the Winnipeg Free Press yes or no answers to every questions for the next three years. If you want to act like a gossip rag we'll treat you like one. - Love Chipper and Chevy"

That would have ended this garbage tout suite. Kane has targeted Winnipeg media in some of his jabs, so one has to think the constant BS articles had to have gotten under his skin.

Learning from mistakes. Do you mean like trading for and then signing Halak in May, drafting DalColle and Ho-Sang in June and then signing Grabovski and Kulemin in July?

Garth sucked last year, but he's been on a roll the past couple of months and you need some new material.

Any Sabres fan that is thrilled with the Sabres "losing interest" is just stupid. "We don't want this drama" and stuff like that is just ludicrous! I'm sorry but I want to see the team win now. McDavid and Eichel are going to be crap shoots like any other draft pick! You never know what could happen to them by next year. "Maybe they both get hit by a car, blow out their knee, go into the boards head first and no longer can play again! Get my drift? If we have a chance to land someone like Evander Kane we should be all over it. Everyone wants to win now. Not suck for another year and have to pray we win the lottery and luck out. How many people on here have won the lottery? If I'm Murray, I'd go for it. Kane's only 24 and is highly skilled. Whatever character flaw he has Nolan can definitely fix it! I'd offer Hodgsen, Pysyk/McCabe, and '15 2nd for Kane and '15 3rd/4th.

100% Bubba....I predict the Islanders make the playoff's ....or at the very least finish higher than Buffalo, Florida, Ottawa, Carolina, and Toronto....stand a very fair chance of passing Washington and Detroit as well.

i think it would take killorn, barberio, connolly, and gudlevskis and a pick for kane. young up and coming forwards, dman and goalie. plus a first or 2nd. we do have two firsts next year too. but i think gudlevskis would have to be included cuz we arent giving up vasilevskiy killorn would replace kane on that line, connolly would be a good 2nd/3rd liner and barberio could slot into pegs top 6. then gudlevskis would be their backup/starter

I agree, the same thing happens in Montreal. The media are all over any scraps they can find. Things get blown out of proportion all the time. Just listening to reporter's questions after a game is embarrassing.

Anyways, good luck with Kane. If you do have to trade him, I hope you get a decent return for the kid.

Sorry to say . You are in the minority . The majority of Educated Sabre fans are willing to have some patience . We want to see the rebuild done correctly. For the long term success of the franchise . Most are tired of the valiant chases for 8th place ( only to get bounced in the first round) . Or 9th place . Then getting a middle of the draft pick . The elite talent is at the top of the draft.
We are building for long term success. If you don't have the patience for that too bad . Tim Murray has a plan . If you look at we already have in the pipeline talent wise you could appreciate that .
Evander Kane is a good hockey player but too many questions surround him at this time and the asking price is too high . Last thing you need is a bad character around all these young impressionable players. He needs to go to a franchise that has lots of senior leadership to get him headed back in the right direction . Buffalo is not that place at this time.

So not including Washington u really think 6 metropolitan teams are making the playoffs??? (Nyr, nyi, pitts, phi, nj, cbus) Where are all these wins gonna come from?

Rangers, Cbus, Pitts, Philly, devils all decent metropolitan teams. Islanders are all right but strength of schedule is a big factor. Boston, Tampa and Montreal all decent teams in the Atlantic. Then u have buffalo, Ottawa, toronto and an xfaxtor out of Florida (could either be decent or awful again) that Detroit gets to play a lot.

If nyi played in the Atlantic they might make the playoffs easily but they got a lot of tough teams in metro. Can't always play against Carolina. Plus how much better west is. Islanders could very easily be a bottom team again but apparently I'm called a troll for the way I see things.

He only said that the Islanders would be better than 5 other teams, only 1 of which was a Metropolitan team, leaving 4 Atlantic teams. At the most, only 5 teams from any Division can make the playoffs. His numbers are fine.

I see playoffs being
Tampa
Nyr
Boston
Pittsburgh
Philly
Montreal

Then u have columbus and devils fighting for a spot and Detroit being a heavy favorite for a spot bcz of strength of schedule and the fact that they still are decent.

Florida could be a really good team. I think islanders need a lot of things to go their way for them to be in contention. Same with Washington.
