Ideally if we're going to start ponying up our favorite prospects I want to focus on our biggest need which is defense. Both players would be unreal but I fear what Snow would have to pay to get both of them. I could part with one of our better prospects/young guys but not two.

I get that... Jets are pretty much in the same boat.

I hope the Isles do well this year... for as much as Snow gets crapped on, at least he's trying. Vanek pretty much blew up in his face, but it was a high risk/high reward situation. If Vanek had shown up, it could have been a whole other story.

How about this.

Coburn, B. Schenn, Vinny and a 2nd for Kane.

Gallagher is a good young player but if you wouldn't dump him to take those two back then you're insane.
- eichiefs9

no I'm not...You simply dont win with player like Kane... he must be a Ribeiro like guy in the locker room...

Gallagher type you need... Makes me think of dougie gilmour...

For Kane, I say pleckanek and Tinordi... take it or leave ( for Kane alone)

Then they could turn around and trade a D for a winger..

It's a great offer, but can't see the Jets taking on Vinny's salary...

I'm a big fan of Vinny's... but I just don't think he fits on the Jets roster.

Coburn, Schenn and a 1st?

They've already markedly improved over last year's team. The most drastic improvement being, obviously, in goal.

The Grabovski/Kulemin signings, while probably being slight over-payments, give us a lot more forward depth, most importantly at center.

Now I'd like to see him add just one respectable defenseman and I'll start feeling a lot more confident in our chances at making the playoffs. Kane would be fantastic playing with Tavares but if I were Snow and talking to Chevy I would likely be focusing my efforts on Bogo first.

Dude, you're Under evaluation Kane

Kane will fetch a 1st. He will fetch a roster player, and a prospect.

I don't see the Flyers trading Coburn or Schenn without getting knocked off there feet. I think Kane is a player they would go for but they need to get rid of Vinny's contract. The deal does have plus' and minus' for both teams.

Habs are trying to find a winger, not get rid of one

And Patches scored 39 goals, has one of the best contracts for his value. Worth more.

To be honest. Bogo is a bit of a band-aid and he doesn't have much for vision/hockey sense that you'd expect from a 3rd overall pick.

Depending on how this year goes, he could finally be labelled a "bust". Trouba... in only his second year, is a far better d-man... and Morrissey will be too, just a different playing style.

I think Bogo could be had.

In all seriousness - who/what would WPJ want from the NYI for Evander Kane?

Why are people still talking about Joe Thornton? TSN said two weeks ago that Joe won't be waiving his no-trade clause.

Same problems remains for the Habs. They still need another top 6 forward.

His value is diminishing. He wants out and they should move him. They will never get full value for him now.

Agreed. The longer Chevy waits, the less his pony will rake in. We're one tweet away from a Winnipeg crash and burn.

Kane spent a few days in Montreal last summer, I bet he made some friends.

Taveres would be nice. But Okposo in a straight up deal.

Same problem as using Patches as the starting point. Kane would fill a top line LW need but then we'd need a top line RW.

Plus Okposo is part of this core and is probably never going anywhere.
