Hey, I know a lot of people have been asking/interested in what is going on. We had our son on Thursday (at 33 weeks) He ids doing great right now, born at 5 lbs even, which its pretty good for how early he is. His back is looking great from the earlier surgery. Well be in the NICU for a while, but he is breathing on his own without any help so they are very happy with that.

Thanks again to everyone for their thoughts/prayers/well wishes. It has been very appreciated.

Best wishes to you and your family and your new addition! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Hopefully your little guy will have put on a fair amount of weight by the time camp opens and we're getting ready for the season.

Saw Stan said he isn't worried about clearing cap room until before training camp (doesn't have to before then). Oduya is in a walking boot and should be fit to play before training camp. Does this mean Stan is waiting for a clean bill of health for Johnny O to trade him?

Congrats on the newest hockey fan there Carcus!

Versteeg + Rosy out = 4.4
Cap deficit =2.2
Dahlbeck as replacement =600K

Skate with 13 forwards

You STILL have over 1.5 to make maneuvers. And that doesn't discount the possibility of an in-season trade involving any number of players.

This would be the move that says, "we are going for it".

Trading a Top 6 wing or a Top 4 D man is not. We can deal those guys next year.

This. All that needs to be said. The wait is killing us fans though....i really hope we can hold on to Sharp, Oduya, and even Leddy for 1 more year. The time is now to load up with everything we've got and make a serious run for 3 Cups in 6 years.

from what I read and heard, seems like John Hayden was dominate, I know in the one scrimmage, he had two fights and two goals.

Think they broke the pros away from the rest of the guys though, so not sure he scrimmaged against the likes of TT, McNeill, Danualt, Hartman, etc.

and I am gonna say it now and never again:

I have listened to all Brad Richards smack, about not a true 2nd two, slow beyond slow, not the right fit, etc.

I think you will be very surprised who good he is going to look playing along side the other Hawks forwards.
Since so many have decided they understand and are experts on Richards' game, why not expound on his strengths here in a post.

If you know what he does, project it as part of our weaponry, and in terms of veteran who alll know can wins has won a Cup and whose addition makes the front better, I am
excited ... and not even downtown in my Hawks sweater.

I know this and I have said it here n the past, he can distribute the puck. Play him with scorers and he will put up numbers. Personally, i would have preferred Kesler for his age and overall game, but I have no problem with this player at this cap hit and term.

A 603/210 C... like it. Whats the word on him? His BIO says he likes Lucic. Wouldn't mind a C with that kind of nasty to his game, but a controlled nasty. Is he headed to the Rock this year EK?

In the interview I saw with him, he said he would take what he got out of this back to Yale for his soph season.

Don't think he played C as he was on a line with Schmaltz and Anthony Louis. Think Stan said all 3 are going to lake placid for try outs for World Jrs. He made it sound like the team should keep the 3 of them together.
