Quick wasn't as good as he was in their previous cup run.

Why do you think he got traded out of Philly while in his prime ?

I'd take Mike richards of the last decade.

- WaterBoy

Yea looks like that worked out for Philly.

LA has a lot more depth.

They don't win the Cup without Kopitar and Doughty.

Yeah, but so did Lundqvist.

I mean, he was ok, but not THE reason they won.

that's not the point being argued though. obviously LA is far superior to Montreal. the point is that neither team achieves the same level of success they had last year if you remove their top 2 players.

Philly is one of the most mis managed organizations in Hockey. I mean how many bad signings and trades have these guys made in last 20 years? (void John Leclair deal)

How many more decades before they figure out their goalie situation?

every team has made bad signings/trades

but do you honestly think the Flyers didnt get good value back in the Richards/Carter trades? I'd make both deals again even in hindsight

Plus, look at the Cups the Flyers won because of those trades.

Obviously.

That said, they came closer to winning the cup with Richards and Carter than without them.
