Lars Eller would not produce the offence that DD did last season over those final 60 games. DD, for all of his physical limitations, is a smart player. Eller, despite his obvious physical gifts, is a dumb player.

if you don't produce big numbers in the 2014 playoffs, you suck. just like Sidney Crosby.

wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. just hold on here ok? are you trying to tell me that the team's 2 best players, who are two of the best at their position in the entire league, played a big role in the team's success? that is some revolutionary thinking right there. it's almost like saying that the Kings wouldn't have won the Cup without Kopitar and Doughty.
- DoubleDown

Not really. L.A has major depth. They dont need to rely on 2 players so much like montreal. Take away LA top 2 players, and take away Montreal top 2 players. And you figure it out.

I don't think Eller's a hog. I just don't think he has much vision on the ice, and so he ends up keeping the puck instead of finding a man.

if you actually think that Marty then you're just hating for the sake of hating. it's almost like you'd prefer Pacioretty to play more physical and score 25 goals than play the way he does and score 39. yes, his production waned in the playoffs. he was playing with a 5'7 centre and a 5'9 RW. that's the size of Bantam hockey players. don't work in the playoffs.

He skates with his head down most of the time. Deharnais is the opposite. This is a skill that is underrated.

both teams are considerably weaker without those players. Montreal probably doesn't make the playoffs and LA probably doesn't win a round.

It's more of a trait than a skill. The trait is confidence.
