Nurse wins the Calder.

Nah...he goes back to junior I think. If he does make the squad that means both he and Marincin....thats too much youth on the blue line.

If G Reinhart wins the Calder I'll eat my shorts. The guy is over rated. NHL will expose him.

Please make a video of this. Canada's best dman last year at the WJ. I love watching him play. The NYI such at trading players they actually are being fairly patient with there prospects. I think Bailey is starting to get better. Strome looked good last year. Collberg also looks to be on the way up.

I actually facepalmed when the oilers traded Gagne for a winger. He may not be the best aggressive forward. But he is a top six forward that is young as still has potential to be better.

I really hope the oilers take there time with Drasaitl. I think they should just sign Hanzus to a one year deal and let Drasaitl play one more year in JR.

Actually, I forgot that Kuznetsov decided to come to NA. This guy looked solid in his short time and having a good training camp he could be a run away win for the calder. He may not have the potential as lots of the younger guys but he is older and more experienced. He has also been playing with men versus coming straight out of Jr.

Griffin Reinhart is eric Gudbranson 2.0....plus the guy made next to no improvements in his last year of Jr....should have dominated but really didn't.

100% Bubba....but Draisaitl might make this team by default, (against my wishes) and if he does he stands a good chance of being in the Calder convo.

Ya, but those poopty eastern reporters will be all over Drouin if he has a decent year. Then they can write about the Mackinnon connection again.

Oh probably......but Draisaitl has the talent and body to compete this year, I just feel that another season in Jr and the NA game will be better for him.

I agree especially since you dont really have anyone that can shelter him. RNH still needs sheltering and quite honestly will likely a be better as a soft minutes C his whole career, something like Sedin. Thats what makes Draisaitl a good pick up for you guys. He'll likely be better to play tough minutes with his size and skill set; better puck protection and strength then RNH. Of course he has to develop a bit first.

Talk out of your ass much? RNH does not need sheltering as he has an advanced grasp of the 2-way game. He's weighing in at a lean 195lbs as of now and with his positioning he will have no problems with the tough opposition. I might be putting words in your mouth but by saying he needs to sheltered I assume you are suggesting he is either Physically weak or defensively unreliable, both false statements. I suppose it's possible you haven't seen him play.

Hall is not elite.
RNH is soft.
Yak is a bust.

I think all these anti Oiler guys believe that if they just keep saying these things they will come true....

I guess I just don't understand how Backlund is good enough to shelter Bennett but Nuge isn't good enough to shelter Draisaitl.

For the record, I think we should bolster our centre depth and leave Drai in Jr. but it has little to do with Nuge.

No Sh!t.That and the rediculous expectations/ceilings they have for their own young players. I suggested on here that Monahhan had the potential to be as good as Keith Primeau (pretty good compliment IMO) and they reacted as if I left a steamy Turd under their Christmas Tree.

Well worst in the west can still be better than than 3ord or 4th worst in the East and have you dead last in the standings, I suppose. I have a feeling the Coyotes might be surprisingly terrible.
- Jeropotato

although playing in the west means you're facing stronger competition more often....could mean Calgary gets beat up more even though we're a better team than the worst in the East

Pretty sure our goaltending is stable...but you never know with youngsters.

Fck you guys are sensitive when it comes to your pansy assed high picks, eh? I was merely suggesting that OR would be the better option to go against ths bigger top C in the league. RNH is more a finesse player and would benefit fdom sedin like minutes. Pbysicality is not his bread and butter and despite his NEW MASSIVE FRAME ( ) you guys all rave about he's still a rail that will take a pounding I dont think he can take over a long career. But whatever, GFY
