Okay misused might be a better word, why were they always on the ice after we scored a goal only to give it right back
- Dan Petriw

Or people can stop blaming the coach when a player under performs and I don't know maybe just blame the player

Yes he was. He looked pretty good towards the end of last season. Pairing him with someone like Carkner had obvious results. That pairing would make me cringe and almost laugh at times(when the season was toast) but I like Donovan's potential. Always have. I understand why people have a hard time seeing it but the kid to me has talent. He grips his stick a bit too tight and over thinks each play which effects his timing IMO. He needs some direction. Whether he gets that from us is a different debate.

His possession numbers were actually pretty damn good. Slightly offensive ZS% heavy, but he played against above average competition and still had a really good CorsiRel. Limited viewing but I think it should be enough to give him another shot, should he not be included in a trade.

Sorry it's been awhile since I found an opening to bring up advanced statistics.

I just love that MM is dating Bommer's georgous daughter and he has to actually pay attention to the Islanders. He is a die hard Ranger fan.

Donovan was a rookie and you have to expect growing pains especially as a yound D-man. Playing with some of those retreads didn't help for sure but do some of you forget that he couldn't take a one timer if his life depended on it. It got so bad that Butchie was killing him on air I guess that was Carkners fault as well

Of course it can happen, but I just don't see it happening plus I would keep him over Martin.
- Vukota

I know most disagree but I see the potential for there to be more to Martin's game. I know I've been saying that for a while now without much results. I'm aware
I don't dislike Clutterbuck in fact I like him but he was guilty of being invisible at times last year. He appeared disinterested far too often at times but like i said earlier most of the team as our record showed. The team as a whole was listless/disinterested for stretches. Could have been his injury or just a product of his environment? Hoping for a bounce back year this season from him too.

Howie would always point out how Capuano would throw them out there to stem the inevitable push after they scored a goal
- Cptmjl

You would think after the 10th time that failed.. You'd try something else

You know what they say. If at first you don't succeed, keep trying that same thing without changing anything.

The coach gets blamed because 20 or so players underperformed last year, especially in their own end of the ice....not just one or two. Anywhere but this perpetual circus, that gets a coach fired.

I'm one of Martins biggest fans. I just think if one of they goes it will be Martin. Outside of fighting Clutterbuck is just a better player

Clutterbuck does put up more points but exactly how many were empty net goals? I remember him having quite a few of those

I'm not sticking up for that clown by any means but I get a kick out of how when player X was fine the year before with the same coach and then has a down year in the same role and then its the coaches fault. All I'm saying is that Players need to be responsible as well. that's all whether Arbour is the coach or Capuano

Clutterbuck has scored double digit goals in just about every year he played. Martin has not reached double digits once. Pretty sure Clutterbuck was tied or near the top for short handed goals this year as well. He is a better skater, just as good a checker, better offense player etc etc. Again I love Martin but Clutterbuck is all around the better player

He was in an 18-way tie for 10th place, with 4 SHP. 11-way tie for 5th place with 3 SHG (Grabner was part of that tie).

I agree.. It's just like the whole why is grabner not a top six forward. It's as much if not more of a grabs problem than it os a coaching problem
