The problem is the isles are so afraid of him waking up and producing elsewhere, that they keep him.....waiting. It's not happening.....move on.
- kindlyrick

They won't rush the outcome either way, and rightfully so. I doubt the return would be all that great for him, so they take little risk in:
A; waiting for a better offer or package to include him in
B: Allowing him time to maybe start fast (yeah, past history etc).

I'd prefer they deal him sooner than later but he's not high enough impact for me to care.

Fair enough but when you say first line play making center do you mean they drafted him thinking he would be one in the NHL or they drafted a 1st line play maker from juniors hoping he could be a #2 center in the NHL. Because I don't think any of us ever thought he was going to be a #1 center in the NHL. Shoot most of us never even heard of him.
- Vukota

When they drafted bailey he was "supposed" to be the next top center on the isles. Gsrth has been succinct in building down the middle ans drafting a top pt producing center can only make us assume he was to be just that. Fast forward a year later and the isles got lucky to be able to draft the elite Tavares. I think that was the beginning of the end to Bailey.

As far as who Josh Bailey was.....none of us know who most of these guys are. We only know what we read leading up to the draft.

Just curious, cause as far as I remember Frans has been the second line center for this 1000 year rebuild. When was Bailey second line center? Even when he played "second line" he played on Frans' wing

I agree with the lack of heart.....that's obvious.

- kindlyrick

Bailey spent time on the second line center position during his sophomore year. (remember, he didn't switch to wing until early 2013).
FTR: He spent most of the first half of this past season on Fransy's wing, so the whole 'third line' thing doesn't wash.

They take a lot of risk in keeping a guy who clearly isn't producing for whatever the reason.

How much longer are you gonna wait on a guy who's been playing since 2009? Admit that it's not working and move on....

Who were his wings? I don't remember bailey ever playing second line center.

His peak was projected as a second line player. Reports stated he had first line skill but lacked competitive drive and was more of a perimeter player.

You're right but on a team with zero centers, by process of elimination he was the projected first line center.

Thank The Lord the isles ended up with Tavares.

In other news today this site is becoming ridiculous with its pop ups. I jad to scan my phone three times in the past three months due to viruses. Anyone else dealing with this shat?
- Cptmjl

Happened with my old computer. (got rid of it)

Didnt matter how many times I scanned it. I had three anti virus programs running one after the other. Day and nite and still couldnt clean out the computer. I was overrun with virus' and malware. Cleaned out 30-35 and 20 more replaced them.

Stay off the links.

Try a couple of new anti virus programs. Still you may be to far gone!

I had mozilla firefox with adblock at the time. Now I use crome. PC Matic, Malware Bites and Microsoft Security Essentials. Much better then before. All three work together.

yea I know. Sometimes the would stack up on top of one another. You would X out one and several more were waiting to take their place.

My computer got so bad I could not use it any more. So far my new one is OK.

I'm not going off Mackenzie I'm going off memory. If my memory serves bailey in his last year in juniors led the spitfires in pts playing center on the top line. I wanna say Taylor Hall was his linemate.

Point is, the experiment for whatever reason should be done. Time to move on.

- kindlyrick

Was it Taylor hall or Steven Stamkos?

Edit:my mistake, I'm mixing up the sting with the spitfires

I'm really curious how these line combinations are going to turn out. I know it's way too early, and there's a strong possibility a trade for a defenseman is likely. I know grabovski and kulemin want to play together, But kulemin is a decent defender. I'd like to see him play along side nielsen. And if Bailey isn't traded, he's most likely gonna be on this roster. As frustrating as he is to watch, he's pretty solid defensively.

Nelson tavares Okposo
strome grabbo grabner
Bailey nielsen kulemin

I'm not even gonna bring up the fourth line. There's so many extra forwards it's an absolute log jam. Martin/McDonald/conacher/lee/clutterbuck/boulton w/ cizikas centering. Who knows how that is gonna work. I want lee to make this team, But he's one of the few with a 2-way contract.

I know my thinking is a bit unorthodox, but that second line would be a lot of fun to watch. I hope Grabner gets out of the doghouse. The speed and skill on that line would be hard to match. The third line i put together would be great defensively to pair off against other teams top lines.

What do you think?

Not to mention he has no hockey sense- that's the real issue with this kid and always has been. A lot of what is seen as lack of motivation, to me, is really the lack of understanding of, for one example, what to do with the puck when he has it- it's more stupidity, from a hockey perspective, than laziness. Laziness can be fixed by a boot in the ass (which he's never going to get from this coach, but there'd still be hope for one day in the future), but as I said about DiPietro, you can't fix stupid. That's why I don't think this guy is ever going to get to be THAT much better than he already is, and I'd rather get something for him while I still can- especially since he doesn't really have any spot in this lineup where he would not just be standing in the way of someone else, staring at the goal, either picking a bad time to meditate, or just simply mesmerized by the thought of what he should be doing.

You gotta remember that the reason why grabovski and kumelin signed is to play together. I don't see the isles breaking them up anytime soon. The way the isles work, those two will play together until it works.

See and I think it's mostly a confidence thing......with a lack of caring. Mix those two together and you have an underachiever.

Bailey for Cody Franson straight up. Done.
