Blue, actually. Blueish, anyway.

Problem with Classic Rock, it's stuck in a time capsule...and once you've heard it 100 times, it starts to kill your soul with monotony.

Corduroy, Last Exit, Spin The Black Circle & Whipping are all good. But there was some goofy, arty poop too. Bugs is in that category.

Some people are like that...they get "tired of a song" or some such.

Not me man. If I hear a good song, it's a good song for the rest of my life, unless something goofy happens with sentimentality, etc

I actually saw it on PBS. During a fund raiser. I was flipping thru and I saw Clapton...then they showed Baker and I was like, yeah, I'm parking here until this is over.

Good choice man.

They're 1 of only a handful of superbands in history....Led Zeppelin, the Traveling Wilburys are the others that come to mind, for me.

They are still good songs, but they start to dull, and you definitely start to bore of them. Maybe not you, but I love music, lots and lots of it, all eras and types, but I need to keep moving forward, looking for new stuff to cause the synapses to fire or it's just gonna make my ears bleed.

They were monsters.

There were a few others, but most lacked the impact Cream did. Asia, Derek & The Dominos, The Firm, Damn Yankees...although not sure a Ted Nugent/Styx/Night Ranger mashup is super

I go through phases like that. I'll get tired of a song or a band and then not hear it for awhile and boom, the love affair begins a new.

Yup, that's certainly a factor.

Hell, I used to love smoking and listening to Cypress Hill. That just wouldn't be a good time for me now, at least musically.

Absolutely. And for me it comes down to how heavily involved the instruments are in the music. Back in the day the songs were about 3 minutes of mostly vocals. I can't deal with that much any more, especially if what they are singing about is stupid as poop to me, and it usually is. Cause I'm getting older. And grumpy.

I need some texture, an instrumental landscape free of the chatter so I can just let my mind wander.

Anybody go back (or maybe never left) vinyl?

it depends. groups like kansas, boston, bad company...it's generic shlock rock that i would be with never hearing every again.

bands like zeppelin, floyd, rush, yes...that's a completely different level of talent, and i almost never get tired of it even though i've all of their songs a billion times.

I listened to mostly rap until I was 17. I was into classic rock until about 21. I listen to a ton of music, so I eventually just overplayed the music to a point where I had to look for something more current. There are a lot of good bands these days. You just need to be willing to look in the right places.

Agreed. One of my favorites in recent years.

Saw 'Gravity' tonight...visually impressive, otherwise fairly average, imo.
