I really like the 2nd line. 3rd is good too.
Giroux needs more then Akeson and Raffl imo to succeed.

- Marc D

Over an entire season I would guess he would, unless Akeson surprises all of us.

to have an awful year and still score 20 goals is good in my book
- 2Real

And played with a bad back for most of the season.

I'm well aware of vinny's problems on ES. I saw him trail the play so many times. Who knows what the off season can do to cure his ailments.

I'd like to be that guy, because I'd make more in 1 season that I will my entire career. I'd deal with it.

The Bantams need a coach, maybe you can work your way up?

Raffl-Giroux-Akeson
Simmonds-Schenn-Voracek
Umberger-Couturier-Read
PEB-Lecavalier-Rinaldo
Much better balanced in the top 6. G should be the guy to elevate the play of the guys around him.

Early on in the season Vinny and Schenn showed tremendous chemistry.
- 2Real

Not really. Vinny did most of his early season scoring on the PP. Prior to being sidelined with the back injury, 5 of Lecavalier's 9 goals were on the PP. He had his best game playing RW with Giroux vs the Isles, when he had a hat trick

No, no, not at all. I was hoping you might get it. You said all he did was score 20 goals which made me think of when Buddy said all Chris Carter did was catch touchdowns.

My bad.

He does -- maybe he has trouble focusing and being consistent and that will ultimately be his undoing. That could happen. But he sure looks like he puts in the work to make it. That kid looks like he can beat somebody's ass without breaking a sweat

he was able to do all that while having back issues if he's feeling better this year watch out
- 2Real

Do all what? He scored 20 goals. Good for him.

He was bad in almost every other facet of the game. He's been a possession anchor for the past two seasons. He's unable to play LW, which is where the team could actually use him.

Lecavalier's GF20 is higher with schenn than without

OK, if we're going to cherry pick one play, I guess Jay Rosehill can fill the need for a sniper on the first line LW

It is. Could have to do with the fact that when he was used on other lines, it was generally miscast as a LW, where he was uncomfortable or playing with guys like Rosehill & Rinaldo.

A better GF% with Schenn doesn't make it a good pair. It means he sucked slightly less with Schenn. And Schenn's numbers, almost across the board, were better without Vinny.

Vinny has been a very good player in the past. Doesn't mean he's a very good one now.

He hasn't been a "really good player" for a number of years. That back injury must keep recurring.
