Sabres won't. Islanders have a shot, but an incredibly slim one.

My guess is that the Isles implode and fire Capuano pretty early on but get better and come up short

Realistically, if they add another solid, serviceable defenseman before the season starts then I'm going to feel a lot more confident about having a shot at the playoffs. We are way overstocked at forward, so there's a highly likely scenario where we are going to be shipping one or a couple guys out, all but definitely for a defenseman.

All of which you bought up at some point on this thread. It was about Myers and potential trades for him right? That's what I was discussing but you seem to be the one off topic.

We are way overstocked at forward, so there's a highly likely scenario where we are going to be shipping one or a couple guys out, all but definitely for a defenseman.

Agreed. Forwards, you guys have nothing to scoff at. Defense is almost set. Goaltending is decent. A key addition to defense or a ridiculously good scoring winger and you'll make the playoffs if Snow doesn't act like.. Snow.

I wouldn't call the Oilers franchise quite lucky at this point. I don't see playoffs for them anytime soon. All that talent, but a mediocre overall team and in a strong as hell conference, RNH and Hall will be lucky to see the playoffs by their mid to early-late twenties.

I'm curious to see who starts the year playing with Tavares and Okposo, I assume it's Nelson considering he played extremely well there in limited showings last season. They're pretty stacked down the middle with JT, Grabo, and Nielsen. Assuming the young guys like Nelson, Strome and Lee take the next step in their continued development then things are starting to look really solid.

I'm curious to see what forwards they'd move out. Everyone wants Bailey gone but I'm not sure what kind of value he holds. I'd like to hang onto Grabner for the 3rd line but he likely carries a little more value than Bailey. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
