Murray also said unless the deal knocks his socks off...if Murray gets an offer he can't refuse Myers will be packing his bags. Only a few are untouchable on this team in my opinion.

Some people it just doesn't make sense to trade. Myers is one of them. He proved last year he's rounding into top pairing form. Unless you can definitely say Ristolainen,Zadarov or McCabe will be better you shouldn't move him.

When it comes to Myers it seems to be 50-50 as far as the fans go on whether to trade him or not. Personally, I could care less one way or another but I'm still a firm believer in where there is smoke there is fire and his name has cropped up all to often since before the trade deadline. I do believe if Murray gets what he wants the kid is gone.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Myers went downhill as the Sabres ship has been sinking.

I'm guessing a change of scenery (or the Sabres magically getting better in a hurry) and he's easily going to be a 30-40 point defenseman with the potential to go higher.

I doubt Buffalo trades Myers unless it's a king's ransom full of prospects and young NHLers.

The guy has all the tools to be a top-flight NHL D-man for a long time, he's had a couple of rough seasons after his Calder, but so what? His innate skill set is great, he just needs to work on his decision making and coordination a bit... he'll be fine.

Oh, and you can't teach 6'8".

Don't worry Sabres fans, a lot of the hockey world was ragging on Hedman the same way not too long ago... they've since shut their mouths. I hope you keep Myers, because it'll be the same thing.

I would take him in a heartbeat in Philly but the Sabres would be foolish to trade him unless they are getting a young Dman and forward as part of the package.....no prospects... NHL ready players only!

It doesn't make any sense to trade him. After next draft our rebuild is just about over. So unless another teams gm makes a crazy offer it wouldn't make sense to move him. Buffalo has a very good chance to get either McDavid or eichle. Add him to our foward group of moulson, hodgson, ennis, reinhart, Girgenson, grigorenko, armia and we will have a pretty decent top 6. As far as our future d goes. Myers, ristolanen, zadorov, Pysyk, McCabe and gorges.

just depends on if murray gets his price. if he gets mantha, he pulls the trigger. then the sabres resign ennis and ruhwedel to get back over the floor, and either trade for another d, or pick whatever is left from the ufa heap. thats where the bar is set, any less than that, and we keep our young 6'8" defenseman and see how much better he gets. murray said the best offer he got on draft day was the 24th overall, and he barely acknowledged the offer. if myers goes, it wont be the painless spare parts offer that everybody wants their teams to offer up. gotta give to get.
