Caps hit of combined players would be needed to balance out to Myers, but Clifford isn't all that appealing, I'm sure you have other prospects to spruce it up. I don't think its that much of an overpayment. I think the 2nd rounders are needed, just complicating the deal.

Nah, its not the kind of deal that murray would be looking for. The sabres are loaded with bottom 6 prospects, they wont move him for less than a top prospect. Im thinking taffoli. Its not gonna be a spare parts deal. The sabres are fine going forward with him.

How does this trade help buffalo?

Buffalo likes Myers and is not actively shopping him. Other teams gms are calling us and making trade offers. Murray doesn't really want to move him so only way he does is if somebody is gonna OVERPAY.
It's a very good possibility that buffalo will get 1 of McDavid or eichle in the next draft. Now between moulson, hodgson, ennis, stafford, reinhart, Girgenson, grigorenko and armia 5 of those will be in the top 6 with mceichle. So unless there is a foward that is significantly better than all of those buffalo is not moving Myers.
Also in a year or 2 buffalos defense is projected to be
Myers zadorov
Ristolanen McCabe
Pysyk gorges
After that pickings are slim. Personally I want players better than gorges on my d. Maybe buffalo picks 1 up in free agency.
Lastly buffalo has 3 picks in the 2015 draft and 2 of which have potential to be lottery picks. Adding a 4th ,especially a late 1st, at the cost of a nhl calibre player is counter productive
So unless it's either a #1 dman or an elite foward buffalo is not moving Myers.

This thread's gonna go on and on and on and on..

but to sum up..

-Tim Murray isn't shopping Myers.
-If a team wants him, they'll be overpaying.
-Wings fans think they're offering too much with Mantha. Despite the fact that he's an unproven commodity, the Wings have their panties in a twist calling foul.
-Sabres fans are either over valuing Myers or simply stating, like myself, the only propositions worth discussing are ones that offer more than what Myers is actually worth, because, according to our GM, not only is he not being actively shopped, but has been endorsed numerous times by TM pertaining to his future in Buffalo
-Toronto fans are making Toronto proposals of Gardiner, Kadri and a 2nd for anything
-Everyone else is either saying Myers has a ton of upside still or Myers SUXXX UMADBRO?!
