Haha read Chris Stewart, Evander Kane (did he hate Laraque?)....Letang and Fleury (did he hate Mario?)

Player for player I'd take Letang to play on my team BUT since Paccioretty has a good cap #, this makes it almost pretty even.

I'd go after Gallagher, Eller..

I think u may be right about the leak, it was meant to force Subban into doing something. Doubt Rutherford would trade Letang, I know I want to keep him. I don't like the idea of Marleau , he is a great player but he's too old, rather have someone younger.
Edit anyone know what avg age of Pens when we won last cup ?

- Bradlee3

According to elite prospects the Pens average age was 27.09. As the team stands now we are at 28.68. This appears to be the average of every player that played for the Pens that year even if they only played one game.

So, I hate blacks because I think Stewart is lazy (which he is); Kane has issues (which he has) ... laraque? Forgot he was relevant. Hey, I liked Tony McKegney, Clint Malarchuck and Grant Fuhr and Wayne Simmonds, so that sort of ruins everyone's thought process.

I don't hate Fleury. I defend him more than most on those board. Please give me a post where I hate Fleury.

The one thing that jumps off the page to me in any of your answers is when you claim Phish as the "best act going". We can agree to disagree there.
Is it just me or do Finns have the easiest time transitioning to the North American game? Even when I watch the Finnish team at the worlds or the Olympics I always thought they matched the physicality of Canada and USA better than Swedes, Swiss, Russians. All of this makes me feel good about Kapanen making the team this year. Plus a Dad with ten years plus in the NHL helps.

Hated them all. The internet wasn't around in Mario's era but you can bet he hated him too. Probably said things like (frank) this guy he smokes cigs in the lockerroom. Every racist will respond with something like I have friends that are black or in this case name 3/4 players and say he liked them

This post tells me you have serious issues. Fly to Winnipeg and have a night out on the town with E. Kane.

Fact is, you don't want to sift through the posts, because you can't find any regarding any hatred toward MAF.

Go punch your child. I made another post.

Tinordi would not be the centerpiece of a Letang deal unless Rutherford was wearing his North Face *fleece* jacket.
- YouMeAndDupuis9

What's wrong with a 6'6", 240lb shut down defenseman who is only 22? And i said package, meaning there would be more to it.

Cap space is really, really important. But once we get through this season, I feel we will have more than enough money to go around...especially compared to other top heavy teams in the future. That said, in the simplest of terms, (excluding cap space) I agree that I'd rather have Letang on my team than Patches.

Absent the Americans, I enjoy watching the Finns moreso than any other team out there. They may not exactly have the matching talent on the ice as the Canadians or the Americans or the Swedes, or Russians, but they make up for it in other fashions. The style of play will always keep them in games they never should be in IMO. Then again, I look at who is in net and that is usually good enough to do it regardless who is on the ice. They have the best collection of goalies going.

Finns are very tough players. They don't drop the gloves too often, but ...

I have serious issues with you as a human being. Maybe it's because I'm black. Maybe it's just because you try to stir the pot every day on here. Every time you post something, it is usually at the expense of another poster. Every one on here agrees and disagrees but you always make it personal. And the fact that I engaged in an argument with you is probably exactly what get's you off before you go to bed at night.

I don't want to take anything away from Letang, because he is one of my favorite players, but i would rather Patches than Letang on THIS team. The Penguins don't need an elite offensive defenseman. They need steady, 2 way defensemen who can get the puck up to our 2 superstars quickly, without many turnovers. Now, adding a top end scoring winger with a rare combination of size and speed is something i will always welcome.

Don't get me wrong, he may be a solid player. But trading Letang for anything but forwards as the centerpiece would be foolish, IMO.

I was commenting on how GMJR would be getting fleeced if he traded Letang for a package centered around Tinordi.

and you want to make this a black and white issue with me. That is pretty sad. So, I hate blacks because I think Chris Stewart is lazy and Evander Kane has issues and Jarome Iginla (a classy dude and a future hall of famer) wasn't needed here? Got it. And I can tell you, getting in an debate on the internet with you or anyone else prior to shutting it down for the night doesn't get me off. There are other things that do that, not trying to tell a poster that his idea makes zero sense for team X, Team Y, or both.

I like talking hockey with everyone that is rational in their thought process. I don't have to agree with them, but if they can put up logical reasoning behind their madness that makes sense, I'm more willing to give them the benefit of doubt. Asking Montreal to add to Patches with Beaulieu for Letang alone, or asking them for Gallagher and Galchenyuk opens the door for criticism if you look at the current state of Letang.

It depends on who else is coming. Tinordi alone doesn't get it done despite Letang's warts. You have glaring depth problems at forward; a glaring hole in the top six; almost zero forward depth in the system. While Tinordi does bring something different than say Harrington, Pouliot, Dumoullin do, you need something else. I'm more than willing to deal Letang for some useful pieces now and for the future. However, we need a top six forward moreso than a Tinordi, even though I'm a fan of what he brings. I don't know the Montreal farm system that well. The only player that captivated me was Louis LeBlanc when he played at Harvard. I thought he was the man. He sucks now.

They wouldn't do Tinordi and Galchenyuk, so that is the reason Patches straight up is somewhat close, even though I think we need to add.

Okay, I'm going to ask an actual hockey question here.

Per Ryan's mailbag, he was saying he could see us locking up Ehrhoff at $5M per for 5 seasons. Assuming Martin/Ehrhoff would accept these terms, would you rather have Ehrhoff at $5M for 5? Or Martin at $7M for 5?

They have some decent forward prospects that i would be interested in, like McCarron or De La Rose.

It depends on who else you have as far as defenseman on the roster. Even though they are separated by one year, I'm not sure I like the thought of giving Martin $7M when he is 38 years old. I believe Martin is better defensively, but think Ehrhoff could be a tad better offensively - moving the puck. He had a significant role on the power play in Vancouver and to a lesser extend in Buffalo due to the status of the organization now.

Gun to head ... Ehrhoff at 5 for 5M, but its a close call that could go either way. I don't think you can have Letang making 7.25M and Martin 7M on the same roster as Crosby and Malkin, even though the cap is bound to increase.

Can you give me a brief synopsis on either ... maybe a comparable that is playing in the NHL? Thanks in advance.
