On a different note, EK has the Flyers interested on Myers (laughs as he writes this). Any interest there and if so what would you give to get?
- coffee junkie

Myers is actually a guy I could see them having interest in. My guess is, the cost would be far too prohibitive to really consider.

Absolutely, I'd be interested. Don't see it happening, though, and the cost would be prohibitive right now.

Yes, but those early 90's teams sucked out loud.

And they were trying to sell luxury boxes in a new arena.

Having a big, handsome guy the hockey pundits were calling "The Next One" absolutely helped.

- johndewar

forsberg was handsome. what with the steely, blue eyes, blonde hair, and impish grin.

This naturally leads me to:
The top 10 players I ever witnessed!!

1. Bobby Orr
Skated as well Bure, had a shot like MacInnis, passed as well as Gretzky, played D as well as Lidstrom and wasn't afraid to mix it up as well. Hands down, the best player I ever saw.

2. Mario Lemieux
Basically a bigger, stronger version of Gretzky. Imagine the numbers he would have put up if he had been surrounded by Messier, Kurri, Coffey, and Anderson in his prime.

3. Wayne Gretzky
The best pure playmaker I ever saw, he had eyes in the back of his head.

4. Eric Lindros
Yeah, he was that damn good. Absolutely unstoppable in his prime.

5. Nick Lidstrom
Next to Orr, the best all around defenseman I have ever seen.

6. Bobby Clarke
Not the most talented guy on this list, but no one, NO ONE, played harder than Clarke. He could singlehandedly will a team to victory. Also, next to Gretzky and Orr, he was the best pure passer, I ever saw.

7. Ray Bourque
Another amazing, all around dman, who could just do it all. And he did it with class too!

8. Guy Lafleur
The flower was the dominant offensive player of the late 70s. Just imagine the numbers he might of put up if he had actually believed in training and didn't smoke 2 packs of cigs a day!

9. Jaromir Jagr
This guy knows where the fountain of youth is. Now if he would only let me in on it! All kidding aside, next to Lindros, and perhaps Gordie Howe, he's the most lethal combo of skill and strength that has ever played the game.

10. Mark Messier
Next to Clarke, he might have had the strongest will to win that I ever saw. Played his best in the biggest games.

Honorable mention:
Bryan Trottier
Denis Potvin
Larry Robinson
Phil Esposito
Mike Bossy
Sergei Federov
Steve Yzerman
Peter Forsberg
Joe Sakic

But who would Buffalo be interested in on the Flyers... maybe the Schenns? That would at least keep them over the cap floor.

I don't want to give up on BSchenn so soon, though.

I have been saying for months that Myers is a guy they should target, but now that EK has mentioned it....there is no chance

I think he just needs a change of scenery and could work well with Coburn.

The price is the other thing. Would both Schenns do it?

Choosing a most likeable NY Ranger team is like choosing the nicest Nazi, it just can't be done!

there is no most likeable rangers team. ever. the entire organization and fanbase can die in a grease fire.

Shamelessly from reddit

The Flyers almost had teal jerseys during the style freakout of the 90s. In 1995 these almost became part of Flyers history:

But you gotta look at it as "fulfilling a need", not as giving up on Schenner. I like him, and I can't say I'd do the deal for sure... but I don't think it would be a sign of "giving up on him" as much as it would be fulfilling a need.

Hypothetically speaking of course...

Had the Flyers kept Roman Cechmanek, do they win the Cup in 2004?
- jmatchett383

you know...i've never actually considered this question. as good as he was for them during the regular season, i just don't see it.

I'd guess that Murray'd want the Schenns and a top pick. He's not going to move Myers cheaply. He might even not want the Schenns, maybe he'd demand Simmonds or Voracek.

I can't wait until we trade B Schenn for some top-4 defenseman and Schenn goes on to score 35 goals.
