Omitted data is just as 'false' as superfluous data in statistics. Both can corrupt a data set and lead to bad conclusions.

There's nothing you can do about that, except for refine your data-collection methods. Adv stats people are in the process of doing just that. I can't say the same about the NHL scorekeepers.

If a play by a player does not meet the standard required to award an assist, or a goal, there is no ommitted data. And any issue of mistakes made due to a human element, are reviewed and corrected in most cases. And anything that happens to slip through the cracks, is miniscule when compared to the false data compiled to players Corsi stats shift after shift, game after game. Each and every game.

You need to come up with a new out for when you get pinned into a corner... that one is getting tired and predictable.

I don't need an out. The post above and all the others like it that don't address the topic of Corsi and false data do it for me. And it sure proves that I've been painted into a corner!

Again, the challenge and forum is there to refute my opinion on the issue of false data skewing the stats and making Corsi unreliable to rate individual players

Guess it's less challenging for you to keep riding this circular reasoning carousel than to actually produce a cogent argument in your own words.

Your point has been roundly refuted -- you're just not smart enough to have realized it yet.

Anyway, the hockey world is moving on -- I hope you don't get lonely.

All the information needed here is on this thread in the last few pages to see who made a cogent argument in his own words, sticking to the topic at hand. And who had to revert away from the topic at hand, towards commenting on the poster.

You have not made a single post that has addressed or refuted the issue of false data involving Corsi for individual players. I've given you every opportunity.
