Wow!

Gostisbehere-Alt
Pettersson-Hagg

Now this is exciting! Great time to evaluate. Gostisbehere and Hagg should see plenty of time to develop their offense.

Well yes, unless he plays for the Flyers.

He's 19 today. On Wednesday, he'll be 20, thus not eligible for junior hockey.

- Giroux_Is_God

Rule doesn't apply to non-CHL players. Pettersson didn't play junior, so he could have joined the Phantoms at any time. Same for Gostisbehere, had the Flyers signed him right after he was drafted. They could have sent him to the AHL or found him a junior team.

I think Ken Loh should and would have been lynched on the corner of Broad and Pattison.

He could even play an over age season if he was up for it.

So....that whole must be 20+ rule only applies to kids who were drafted out of a canadian junior league to begin with?

Should be interesting in how Terry is able to develop all them all.

Pretty much. Teams encourage underage kids who leave college or come over from Europe and Asia to go to junior like Stolarz. It's an option, not a requirement as I've understood it. The Leafs just drafted Nylander and they are pretty sure he's going to the Marlies even though he was just taken in the import draft by Mississauga.

Probably Bourdon..........It would be ashame but the concussion issues he's had should make him think long and hard about continuing to play.

So for clarity.

Jarko Henriksson of the Swedish Elite league, 21 years old, can play in juniors? And Jarko would be selected in the CHL entry draft?

What about Hayes in the Hawks' system? Let's say the Flyers sign him to an ELC...could he go to Juniors?

I'm really hazy on this stuff sometimes

Hayes is 22, so I'm not sure about Juniors, but I think he would be too old to play in Juniors. And also, if he was signed to an ELC at 22, his contract is not slide eligible. So it wouldn't make sense to send him to Juniors even if he was eligible.

CHL only has players to 20 yrs old. They can have up to two imports outside of North America per team. Neither of those examples would work for the CHL. Nylander is 18 and wasn't drafted by the CHL prior to the Leafs drafting him. There fore he has an option. If the Steelheads had drafted him last season if he came to NA this season he would have to play in Mississauga.
