I've abused this phone quite a bit... with and without the case.

It's just that from time to time, they take a freak fall, land on the perfect spot, and it (frank)s up the screen.

Touch and LCD are fine, just the glass is gone.

I don't know if it is true of the iPhone 5s and c but man does the paint on the first iPhone 5 suck. It chips of SO easily and makes the phone looks so beat up. If you have a case that isn't basically gel, a speck of anything in behind it will ding the phone up.

it's the same with the aluminum backed ones.... little bit of dust in there will scratch it to high hell.

5C probably escapes this problem because it's cheap plastic, like most androids, and doesn't show blemishes as much.
